The Numbness

Jacks POV
I didn't feel anything. I felt absolutely nothing. On the drive home I kept reminding myself that I couldn't turn around and go see Tatum. She was gone. I got home around seven in the morning.

"Your home early" I heard my mom say.

"Yeah Quinn had early practice." I respond.

"Why didn't you just go stay with Tatum?" She questioned. That's when I lost it. I dropped to the floor and cried. My mom ran over and held me for maybe ten minutes while I sobbed. When I quieted down she finally asked "What's wrong honey did something happen with Tatum?" She asked.

I nodded "she's gone" I whispered.

"What do you mean she's gone Jack?" Mom asked.

"She k-killed her-herself" I said barely audible.

"Oh My God" my mom cried she held me and we sat on the floor in the kitchen crying for an hour. She finally got up.

"I have to go to work Jack but I'll be back later and we can do whatever you want but call me if you need anything" she said wiping the makeup off her face. I nodded slowly and went up to my room. I again felt nothing. I was tired out after a sleepless night on the floor of Quinn's dorm. I laid on my bed staring at the ceiling.

I began to yell "Why did she have to leave! Why couldn't I have gotten there ten minutes earlier! Why did she go! Why didn't I visit!"

I heard my door open slowly. "What happened Jack?" Luke asked. I ignored him. "It's Tatum isn't it?"

"It is Tatum!" Danny shouted excitedly.

"Nooo" I said while blushing.

"Yes it is hahahahaha" Cole said while laughing.

"Oh my God look at his texts!" John yelled.

"No stop guys!" I yelled as Patty took my phone from John.

"Ooooo El Capitan is in looovvveeee" Alex said.

"Why is everyone yelling!" Trevor shouted.

"Why are you yelling then" Alex said.

"I'm not yelling I'm shouting." Trevor said.

"Anyway the reason we are 'yelling' because Jack is in loveeee!" Cole said.

"Ok leave Jack and his girlfriend alone guys" Quinn said.

"Ugh thank youuuuu!" I said to Quinn.

"Wait... GIRLFRIEND!" Trevor yelled.

"Yeah they've been on like 3 dates!" Luke exclaimed.

"Oh you little shit I'm going to punch you so hard!" I shouted as I tried to chase Luke out of the basement.

"Wait how long have you guys been dating?" Marshal asked.

"Like a month ish" I answered.

"I am offended!" Trevor yelled

"Oh my gosh Trevor stop yelling!" Cole said

"I. Am. Shouting." Trevor said

"Oh like there's a difference!" Cole replied

"We are best friends!" Trevor said

"Oh your Jacks best friend! Ok ok whatever bro!" Patty yelled

"Jack are you good?" Luke asked once again

I didn't even realize the tears running down my cheeks. I looked up at him then flipped over and turned away from him.

"Dude what happened to Tatum" Luke said

"She's dead." I stated simply

"What!" Luke exclaimed.

"She's dead, she killed herself." I said as I got up to shower.

"What why!" Luke said as his voice broke.

"I don't know." I said

Luke looked over at my desk and clearly saw the note "is this her suicide note?"

"Yeah, I think."

"Then why don't you read it?"
