Chapter 2: Oops?

--xx--

I've been going to school for about two weeks now and I’ve realised that I’m not hanging around the geeks, I’m hanging around the players. My peers don’t stare at me, they stare at the guys. How did I get in the popular group?

Every morning, Connor and the boys come in Connors' black convertible car to pick me up for school. All the girls are jealous that I get the attention from them. Except Georgia, she hates my guts! I can tell from the look that she gives me every time I pass her. I'm pretty sure Georgia doesn’t like me because I stole her spot light.

First lesson on a Tuesday morning is art. This is my favourite class because all five of us are together.

The bell rings and we all rush to the art room. We chat while we wait for the teacher.

"So whatcha guys and girl," Zac winks at me "doing this weekend?"

"Nothing. Why?" Connor, Ryan and Nathan say at the exact same time.

"JINKS"

"DOUBLE JINKS!"

"TRIPPLE JINKS"

"YOU OWE ME A SODA!"

Zac and I laugh at their childish behaviour.

"So what are you doing this weekend, Jess?"

The guys look at me; most probably waiting for an answer.

I hold my chin as if I’m thinking really hard.

"Hmmm…" I hum

"Nothing planned this weekend, why?"

Zac half smiles "Because we are all going to a party and your coming along with us, no if's or but's"

"Uhh... I can't..."

"And why not?" He cocks an eyebrow.

I try to think of a good excuse but this is all I could come up with.

"Erm.. I've got homework to finish."

"Seriously?" He asks, as if it was a one word question.

"Err... Yes?"

"So, you'd rather be home doing homework then going to a party?" he turns around so his back is facing me. "I guess you can't be our friend anymore, sense you’re a geeky girl that does homework for fun. Run along then. Catch up with the nerds." Ryan says waving his hand for me to go.

"No! I can't go to the party because.. Erm.. Because," I stutter not knowing what to say. "Because I don't drink."

Connor tells me "You can still go even if you don't drink."

"UGH! Fine! But you need to sneak me out of the house that night."

"Sure thing Princess. I'll save you from the dragon that you call mum." Ryan half smiles.

We all laugh at his joke.

The teacher finally comes and explains how to mix warm and cool colours.

"Go get yourself a paint shirt so you don’t get your clothes dirty." Mrs Smith says "You may sit anywhere. At the desks, outside or on the floor. As long as you get ideas from your surroundings."

The Five of us forget to put on an art shirt on but instead grab lots of art supplies including paint, brushes, canvas etc.
