Note: I'm sorry for this chapter being shorter than usual, and I won't bust out some valid excuse as to why it is, but I do intend to increase the chapter sizes as time grows, but for now, enjoy this ahead of schedule! ^^
The coach had us lined up across the long white line that stretched down the pavement on the ground for at least 7 meters. He made sure we weren't by people we knew and we weren't, because Niña and Ren got separated from me due to the herd of students rushing to the single line. No one here knew each other well enough to be classified as friends, or buddies so the coach had perfectly succeeded at his desired outcome.
"Okay, so I want Ren and Aiko to step towards me."
As per request, we both obeyed and stepped forward standing directly in front of the coach's body. He smiled down at us and pointed to a building that appeared to be nearly done with being on this earth.
"Cameron and Sophie step up."
I glanced back to see a tall boy step forwards and a girl who was slightly shorter than him step up too. The girl's short red hair brought attention to her pretty green eyes and the boy's dirty blonde hair that was gelled up only made him seem more preppy to me. We were all left in confusion as to why the coach would want us to be up here, but it all made sense when he spoke the next words.
"You pairings are to fight each other. Aiko, Ren, I am to believe that you two have different fighting styles and therefore have different parents so put that to use. 3...2..1.. go."
We sprinted off somewhere not paying much attention to detail as Ren grabbed my hand and pulled me into an empty hallway within the right spacing of the building. His breath was ragged and he was panting as he slowly caught his breath.
"Aiko, you're daughter of Eris, correct? Perfect..! I'm son of Hephaestus, or God of fire or whatever..! Since your mother is Goddess of Calamity and discord, I was assuming that you, as her daughter, are well acquainted with the idea of, maybe, insane ideas?" His words were fast and sounded much like a riddle, but I understood, nonetheless.
"Sure, hit me with it."
"Okay, you'll go out and find them, and then I want you to take out the Sophie girl quickly. I'll be dealing with Cameron, but since he's the son of Poseidon, he's most likely going to cause a scene, so basically I need you to fight one chick and help me with the dude."
I briefly took in the ideas being presented to me before laughing and nodding my head, agreeing with his abrupt ideas and schemes.
"Okay, good," he laughed as well.
This will begin our mission and one of our first moments together...
But don't forget, dear reader...
That tricks are always coming into play.
