When she opened her eyes she didn't expect to be met with the shining silver hair and scarlet eyes that were closed and belonged to Jackson who was in the corner of the room with a book in his hand. He looked peaceful yet bothered as his hand twitched unwittingly.
"God my back hurts." She gasped. "Jackson?"
His eyes flung open and he sprung up like a jack in the box, pampering her with questions.
"I'm okay, Jack. More importantly, how's Ren? Did we pass?"
"I can't believe you're actually concerned about that bobble head when you first wake up.. but he's fine and yes you passed the exam. I made sure of it. That crackhead and his side girl accomplice weren't going to win that fight from the get-go. It wasn't even fair to pair you guys against each other given the strength charts."
Aiko's eyes fluttered in confusion and she quickly went to get out of the bed only to be stopped by the Nurse who conveniently walked in.
"Nope, I don't think so Miss Akiyama. You need to refrain from any physical movements if at all possible." The nurse spoke. She was an older and fragile woman with already developing silver hair even though she was only fifty-nine. No one knows her actual name because she's secretive about it so they all call her Nurse or Healer Kiss, which can be explained given the fact that she can heal you of your injuries with a kiss or by saying 'heal' and then poking you with a finger. It's her ability, and needless to say it comes in handy for the school quite frequently.
"Nurse, I must leave urgently-"
"For what reason? It's the end of the day, my dear."
"I must go home."
"Okay, I'll let you off the hook this one and last time."
"Thank you."
She put her palm against Aiko's back and uttered 'heal' then did the same thing to all of her injuries. Jackson just watched in awe as she did this. It was mind blowing that they have such a convenient ally, let alone one that can heal you so effortlessly.
"Listen to me," the Nurse began. "I am one of the few who know of your actual power. It's on a level higher than the principal's and yet you wish to hide it? For what reason? You do realize that if you would just demonstrate it one time then everyone at this school, even the upper tiers, would leave you alone? You're at the top of the hierarchy, so why belong so low?"
Aiko stretched her shoulder and smiled. "It's simple: I wanted to have a fresh start. The more people knew the more we would have a repeat of my previous school. I assume you've read on that case as well, hm? The principal sure keeps you guys up to date on me."
The Nurse's face went blank like a sheet of paper and she slid the rolling chair back to her desk, clicking the bottom of her pen against the desk to close the pen. "You are dismissed."
Aiko slowly stood up, grabbed her jacket, and headed to the door. She turned her head slightly to see Jackson was stopped by the Nurse and she could immediately know why; she was informing him to do something or she was just informing him of something involving Aiko. This school takes its students very seriously so it would make sense to have someone on the inside watching her very discreetly but also very closely to observe her and make sure she doesn't get out of hand. Of course it wouldn't count against her if she never shows her ability with her face showing, that would only make things worse if everyone in the school knew of her power and the immense amount of strength she holds but doesn't want to show, but for some odd reason, she wanted to cause an uproar. She envisioned what everyone would look like if they witnessed someone higher than the person they feared most: the principal. Would their faces be as white as snow? Or would they be normal and just appear mortified? Either way, it wasn't enough persuasion for her to agree to do it.
