The Étude in A minor, Op.25 No.11, 'Winter Wind' was composed by Frédéric Chopin during the Romantic period of classical music. The tempo marking given for this piece is Lento (very, very slow). However, the piece itself is fiery, intense, and anything but slow. The nickname 'Winter Wind' fittingly describes the unpredictability and ferociousness of this piece. Aside from the Études, Op. 10 and 25, Chopin is also famous for his impromptus, ballads, nocturnes, and other piano pieces.
