The first task Esha completed when she got to work Monday morning was send Louis a detailed email of the occurring in the meeting. She didn't deem it necessary to point out the rest of their evening. She simply pointed out all the changed they had discussed and agreed upon.
Camille pointed out, when she walked up to Esha's desk, "You look well rested."
Esha hummed in response, "I pretty much slept in all of Saturday."
Camille spoke, giving her two files file, "Good, you'll need it. These are the legal documents for the projects I am working on - our copy of it and the other companies. Go over with a fine tooth-comb. There should be no mistakes in either copies. Make sure it matches word to word down to the commas and periods." Camille placed another file on top, "And this is a list of places Mr. Jace has thought of for the B&Bs locations. There's twenty in them. Narrow it down to five and have a list for each location you cut off, and a list for the remaining five. He'll want to know why these five and not the others."
Esha gaped at her, "It's three in the afternoon, Camille! I leave in two hours. There's no way I can finish all of this in such short time."
"That's not my problem." Camille answered, walking off.
Esha inhaled deeply, before following her to her office. "You knew my work load over the day was low-maintenance. Why didn't you give that to me earlier?"
"The list of locations was just mailed over, Esha. As soon it hit my email, I printed it off and handed it over. As for the other files, it slipped my mind. I have other things on my plate too." Camille answered, logging into her company laptop.
"It slipped your mind?! I thought you were done being a stuck-up bitch towards me."
Camille answered, not bothering you look up at Esha. "I suggest you go do your work instead of standing here throwing a tantrum like a five year old. And, might I remind you who is your superior and thus how you should speak to them?"
"You know what, fine. Since B&B project is my priority, I will get that done, and if I have time after that, I will do your job for you. Otherwise, you can forget about it. I don't work after office hours, especially when I don't get paid for it."
Esha started to walk out. Camille spoke, "Do you think people get promotions and climb up the ladder without sacrificing a thing or two?"
Esha turned to face her superior, "I will sacrifice my time when it is under fair terms. I did not come here, with the recommendations I come with, for no reason. If you have a problem with my work attitude, feel free to fire me. Oh wait, you can't." She turned on her heel and stomped off to her desk to cool off.
There was no way she was going to cross-check legal contracts for Camille. That was not her job description. Even if Camille took it to Louis or his brother about her behavior, there was no proper reason they could use to fire her. And because of that, she wasn't going to let it make her feel guilty. She may have raised her voice at her superior, but she held no regret over it. She believed that if one didn't put their foot down and establish boundaries since the get go, others would take advantage of your passive attitude and she was not one to let others treat her poorly and get by with it.
She did briefly wonder why Camille was being a bitch out of nowhere. Maybe some personal problem? Now that her quick temper was fading, she thought to go back and ask if she was okay. Then, seeing the deadline ahead of her, she decided she would try and be a friend to Camille afterwards.
She started working on researching each of the places on the list and narrowing it down to five. Just about ten minutes before it was time for her to leave for the day, she had finished compiling everything neatly in a word document and emailing it over to Nikhil over his work email. She then signed off the work computer and started gathering her things.
