It's been two months since I left. It's been nice being up here in the cabin but I miss everyone. I think it's time to go home.
I unblock Jay's number from my contacts and hit the message icon.
'I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left the way I did. I'm sorry I left at all. I needed some space and to be on my own. I think I'm ready to come home now. Can you forgive me?'
I hit send and walk back into the cabin to start packing everything up.
If I leave now I can make it home by tomorrow morning. I'm done being alone. Jay needs to know he's going to be a dad.
I close the shutters on the windows to protect them and turn off the breaker panel just like dad always did before we left for the summer.
I take one last look around the cabin to make sure everything I need to take with me is packed. I look at the mantle and see dads picture I brought with me.
I pick it up and hold it against my chest. I take a deep breath and set it back on the mantle.
"I think you should stay here daddy. I have a lot more pictures at home to look at," I say as I run my finger down the side of the black frame. "It's time to go home daddy."
I lock the door behind me and put the padlock back on. As I climb into the driver's seat my phone dings.
'Holy shit Krys! I thought you were dead! There's nothing to forgive baby. I want you to come home. I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm never going anywhere.'
Tears fill my eyes at his words.
'I'm coming home.'
I put the Jeep in gear and drive around the circle driveway.
"Let's go home," I say as I place my hand on my growing stomach. "Let's go introduce you to your daddy."
Jayden's POV:
It's been two months since Krys left. I gave up on calling and texting her. She doesn't answer.
I've been looking after the house since she left. I got some repairs done that her dad didn't get around to and I've been keeping up with the yard work.
As I park the lawnmower back in the garage my phone beeps.
'I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left the way I did. I'm sorry I left at all. I needed some space and to be on my own. I think I'm ready to come home now. Can you forgive me?'
Holy shit! She's okay. She finally messaged me. Before I respond I call Ethan.
"Ethan she's okay," I say before he even says hello.
"What? How do you know?"
"She texted me. She's coming home Ethan. She asked us to forgive her," I say as I climb into the truck.
"Forgive her for what? She did what she needed to do to heal. Tell her to get her ass back here so we can all see her," Ethan says with a chuckle.
"I will. I'm heading over to the county to get some parts I ordered. I'll keep you updated."
"Thanks Jay. I'll let everyone else know," Ethan says before we disconnect.
'Holy shit Krys! I thought you were dead! There's nothing to forgive baby. I want you to come home. I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm never going anywhere.'
I send the text message to her before I pull out of the driveway.
I begin the drive over to the county to pick up some parts I ordered to fix her dads truck.
My phone beeps.
I glance down at it and see 'I'm coming home' across the screen and a smile spreads across my face. She's coming home.
I glance up just in time to see a semi truck swerving towards me. I cut my wheel to the right to avoid being hit, but the impact of my front end hitting his bumper caused me to lose control.
I felt the truck flip and then everything went black.
