As elegantly as I could I clambered out of the limo and took in the surroundings. The outside was breathtaking, the entire building was lit up with beautiful crystal lights that sparkled delicately in the night. The faint sound of music could be heard as the doormen opened and closed the grand doors that towered above us all.

I fastened my hand in Lucas' and followed warily behind the whole family as they made their way up the red carpet that had been placed on the stairs outside. Tonight, I felt almost like a celebrity. I knew Lucas came from a rich background, but this was beginning to be a bit more than just that.

Shyly I gave the doorman a smile as he held the door open and my feet slowly walked through the entrance. It was like a fairy tale inside.

Everything looked polished and perfected; there were champagne towers in the corners of the room and a small stage that had a beautiful woman singing with her band. Small party favours were on silver plates scattered around the rooms, balanced on smart waiters and waitresses hands. I was speechless, everyone around me was beautiful and they seemed to be glowing. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

A waitress came up to me with a silver plate full of delicious food. "Would you like a cafe creme ma'am?" She asked.

My eyes wandered over her tray and I shook my head no, because otherwise I would end up demolishing the plate and I would no longer fit inside my dress.

"Dance with me." Lucas whispered in my ear. I gave him a big smile and followed him onto the dance floor with my hand clasped in his.

Our bodies swayed from side to side as we danced in time to the song and occasionally
Lucas would spin me away from his body, before pulling me back and trailing his hand down my back.

I leaned into him and kissed him gently on the lips, wanting to be with him always.

We danced to a few more songs, before we joined the rest of his family at their table and before I knew it, I had a glass of champagne in my hand and was sipping on the blissful bubbly liquid.

The night slipped by and all I could do was laugh and smile. I felt so overwhelmingly happy, it reminded me of the summer that I had met Lucas-when everything was simple and different. The start of my relationship with him.

"This is going to be our final song, before we take a short break." The woman who had been singing announced.

The room fell silent as the song started and I recognised it immediately; it was the song that my mum used to dance with me to, whenever it came on. A warm shiver ran over my body as the music picked up. It was Bound To You, by Christina Aguilera and the woman almost sounded like her, it was beautiful.

I looked over the Lucas to see if he wanted to dance-but he was gone. I felt somewhat deflated, when I could feel a figure standing next to me.

"Do you want to dance with me?" Jake asked and his palm appeared in front of me.

I placed my hand in his, as he helped me to my feet and we manoeuvred gracefully with one another onto the dance floor.

My body pressed gently against his and my breath caught in my throat, as his hand travelled the length of my arm until he clasped my hand; while his other hand circled the small of my back.

"Thank you-for dancing with me. This song, it means a lot." I smiled, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Miya?" He said and I looked him in the eye.

"Yeah, Jake?" I grinned, because dancing to this song made me so happy and a part of me was extremely glad it was Jake holding me to his chest.

"You look absolutely exquisite and ever since you descended down my stairs, I haven't quite gotten my breath back." He said and I gulped at his words, especially as his eyes flickered to my lips when he had finished speaking.

I looked around the room and noticed Lucas standing across the room, smiling at us both-if only he had an idea as to what was going on right now, the words that Jake was whispering in my ear.

Jake followed my gaze. "You know he can't hear us." He whispered.

I narrowed my eyes, "That doesn't make it acceptable. I'm trying to do the right thing."

He tilted his head to the side, like he was trying to see me better. "And what is the right thing? Ignoring your feelings for me?" Jake added and as much as I wanted to punch him for the comment, it was only because he was right.

"Look, I know this whole thing isn't ideal, but I need to see you."

"You're seeing me now, Jake." I laughed, but he didn't laugh back. We continued to sway together, even though it was beginning to become awkward.

"Come to my room tonight." He insisted.

Was he insane? "You expect me to sneak out of my boyfriend's room-who by the way is your brother, to come and see you?" I asked, slightly irritated by his implication.

"Please, Miya." He whispered by my ear and I already knew that I would do as he said, because of the way he had said it and the way he was looking at me. It wasn't fair, none of this was fair.

The song slowed, as it was coming to an end and I parted from Jake, wanting to head back over to Lucas, but Jake grabbed my hand spinning me back towards him. He wanted an answer, I knew that much.

"I'll be by later." I replied quickly, and hurried over to Lucas kissing him on the cheek.

"How was the dance with Jake? I'm not going to have to fight him off you am I?" Lucas joked and I laughed, although it didn't sound right.

"There is never any competition with you." I replied, but the smile didn't quite reach my lips.

Lucas pulled me into his arms. "I love you." He whispered and I hugged him tightly, as my eyes met Jake's across the room.

"Yeah, I love you too." I replied, pulling my eyes away from Jake's.
