They were cuddling when she appeared. She had a broken look in her eyes and she stared at them.
"Camdyn, how did this girl get here?" Kai asked confused as he pointed at the sad girl.
"Ugh, you again," Camdyn said annoyed.
"You know I always dreamed of going to Paris. I wanted to walk the streets and visit small cafes where they sold macarons," she said with a smile.
"Did I ask?" he said.
"I dreamed of getting married in front of the Eiffel tower. I always knew it was cliche, but to me, it sounded amazing," she said as she walked around the room.
"Camdyn, who is she?" Kai asked.
"Just someone," he whispered back.
"I wanted to have two kids. A girl and a boy. I wanted the girl to be older, you know so she could be a big sister. They would have been beautiful and they wouldn't have been abandoned like I was," she whispered with a smile.
"Why are you saying all of this?" Camdyn asked confused, but she ignored him.
"I always wanted a big brother. Growing up homeless was hard, so I liked to imagine I had an older brother who protected me," she said as she sat at the end of the bed.
" I would always wonder why my parents abandoned me. Was it because I was annoying? Ugly? Stupid? A mistake? I would have given anything for a family who loved me," she whispered.
"Anyway, enough of that. I just wanted to thank you," she said.
"Thank me for what," Camdyn asked confused.
"For everything. These past months were the absolute best by your side. I got to experience school even though I didn't understand much of it and I got to see the love between you and Kai grow into something beautiful. You gave me the best thing anyone could have ever given me," she whispered.
"And what's that?" Camdyn whispered back.
"A brother," she said as she laid a small kiss on his cheek which he rubbed off quickly in distaste.
"Take care of him okay," she said to Kai who nodded, still confused on what was happening, before she finally disappeared.
"That was weird," they both whispered seconds before they were interrupted by a phone call.
"Hello," Camdyn spoke as he answered the call.
The words that followed after were the ones that finally made him realize the one thing he overlooked this whole time.
She had saved him.
