Chapter 18: Training Camp Part 2

"Look how lucky I am," A guy with a tooth quirk says, "I ran into the son of the 2nd best Hero,"

We quickly take a defensive stance and I shoot ice straight in front of me.

"An ice quirk? Are you another Todoroki that I don't know of?" the villain asks.

"Unfortunately not," I say.

I realize that Shoto wasn't behind me anymore.

"Shoto?" I ask but I get no response. I start to panic a bit. I can't go against this villain by myself.

"Shoto?" I call again. No response, yet again. I'm almost on the verge of tears, I'm not hurt, but I'm super scared.

"WHERE ARE YOU, SHOTO?" I yell.

Then I feel two strong arms wrap around me. I think I was supposed to be scared, but I knew it was Shoto. Couldn't see him, but I knew it was him, so it was fine.

He quickly let's go and says, "I'm sorry, I was going to pick up this guy from class B that I saw unconscious, but I found some useful luggage so I picked that up too while I was at it." Then I hear extremely loud screaming and explosions.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING USEFUL LUGGAGE YOU HALF AND HALF???" I hear Bakugou yell.

"Ah, useful luggage indeed," I say and laugh. "Next time you do that, give me a warning-- that was actually pretty scary."

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again, but I knew you would be fine," he says.

That puts a smile on my face.

"As long as you believed in me, I'm happy," I say, "Or are you just saying that?"

"Of course I believe in you," he says.

I couldn't tell if there was sarcasm in that or if he actually meant it, so I simply went with it.

"WHY DON'T YOU GUYS FIGHT THE VILLAIN INSTEAD, (Y/N), TO PROVE THAT YOU'RE FINE?" Bakugou yells.

"Yeah, yeah, I will, I'm sorry," I say.

"No, no, you won't," Shoto says to me, "I'll fight the villain, just watch the guy from class B,"

"O-okay," I say and pick him up. I was going to protest but I decided that that was a stupid idea, considering the situation we're in right now.

Bakugou and Shoto have been fighting for about a few minutes but they can barely defend against the tooth quirk. Shoto's been making a huge block of ice for defence but that doesn't work too well against teeth(?). Bakugou's been fighting non-stop, but his quirk isn't a great match against the villain.

"Ugh, SHOTO MOVE AND YOU HOLD THE GUY FROM CLASS B," I snap, "You can defend while holding the damn guy, I, on the other hand, can actually fight if you watch this guy for me,"

"I can fight (Y/n), then, you defend yourself," Shoto glares at me, "and I can fight," he says.

"Y-yessir," I salute, scared.

Right when I make a wall of my own and Shoto is about to start fighting, I hear a lot of rustling and Deku screaming. "Todoroki-kun, Kacchan," he says, "can you make some light for Tokoyami's Dark Shadow?"

Shoto goes straight to putting his left side on fire, but Bakugou yells before that.

"Wait," he says, "just watch,"

We stopped what we were doing and started to watch just like Bakugou told us to. Tokoyami's dark shadow was fighting the tooth villain and defeating him like he was just one of those surrounding trees.

"What," I start, "What destructive power... we could barely defend against it..."

Shoto and Bakugou don't say anything but I could tell they were also impressed.

Bakugou and Shoto quickly make some light and Tokoyami's Dark Shadow (A/N I keep typing Darki Shadow H E L P M E)

"Thank you," Tokoyami says, "you saved me."

"The villains are aiming for a few students I think, and one of them is Kacchan," Deku announces, "I want to walk back to the training lodge as soon as possible."

"That makes sense," I say.

"Okay, Bakugou, you walk in the middle," Shoto says.

"DON'T PROTECT ME YOU SCUM!"

"Okay, let's go!"

"DON'T IGNORE ME!"

"Make sure you keep up," Shoto says,

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"

Shouji's at the front, carrying Deku. Shoto's second carrying the dude, I'm after that and Bakugou and Tokoyami are at the back.

"Wait, why am I in the middle?" I ask.

"I think it's better for Bakugou to be further back, but not last. Besides, Tokoyami's Dark Shadow is not weak,"

"Yeah, no kidding," I say.

We walk for a little while longer before I spot a villain, right on top of Uraraka-san, holding a knife.

"Get," I start, "GET THE HELL OFF OF OCHAKO YOU DAMN VILLAIN!"

She gasps and runs into another section of the forest.

"I'm going to run away because more people have come and I don't want to die," she says with a glare, "I'll see you again, Ochako-chan, Tsuyu-chan,"

"Ochako-chan, Tsuyu-cha, are you okay?" I ask.

We realize that Bakugou and Tokoyami are no longer behind me and panic.

Tsuyu is about to throw Todoroki, Midoriya, and Shouji to the direction of compress and they go to find Deku.

"Shoto," I say, "make sure you bring back Bakugou."

"Yeah, I will." He says.

They get thrown to the middle of nowhere and I simply watch. A part of me wanted to go as well, and fight alongside, but I knew I would be 'not-so-useful luggage' in this case. I can't help but feel worried about Deku's arms and Shoto. I hope he comes back okay. My stress must have shown on my face because Ochako tells me to stay positive.

"Thanks," I say, "but don't worry, I believe that Shoto and everyone will bring Bakugou back,"

"Yeah, I believe in them too," she says as we carefully but quickly get back to the lodge.

All of us other than Shoto, Deku, Shouji, Tokoyami and Bakugou are all at the lodge, waiting in dead silence. The atmosphere is so heavy it's not even funny, what makes is worse is none of us say a single thing, no one makes a sound.

After what feels like an eternity, the door opens. All of us stand up like it was a signal. In comes Shoto, Deku, Shouji, Tokoyami but not Bakugou.

"S-shoto?" I ask really softly, "Where's, where's Bakugou?"

"We weren't able to get him back, I was a few centimetres away, but I couldn't get is," Shoto says, looking at the ground, "I'm so sorry."

"It's fine, we'll figure something," I say with no life in my voice, "We'll get him back,"

The rest of us don't stay silent but the atmosphere only gets heavier and worse.
