Chapter 16: Final Exams (Practical Part)

"Oh my gosh, the ice," I say, "it's melting."

The ice is melting and water is dripping down my arm. Once all the ice is off my arm, Shoto stops his fire and we just don't move a finger.

"D-does it hurt?" he asks.

"No, not at all..." I say.

"Then, what happened?"

I move my arm around a bit and try to figure out what's different from before, but I can't feel any difference other than my arm feels a bit lighter than before.

"...nothing. My arm just feels lighter..." I say.

"Okay then..." he says. "So then, what was that ice block?"

"I-I don't know..."

I find a mop to sweep the floor. I see two pieces of ice glistening inside the water and start to pick them up. The two pieces of ice are identical and they are in the shape of teardrops. I smiled at it.

"It's so pretty," I mutter.

"What is?" Shoto asks.

"Oh, look at this, Shoto!" I say and show him.

He smiles. "Yeah, it's pretty."

I walk into the classroom and sit in my seat. I find Shoto staring at me so I question him why.

"Shoto? Is there something on my face?" I ask.

"No. Nice earrings," he says pointing to my ears.

I smile, "Thanks!"

I made two earrings out of the two ice teardrops that were a part of the ice block on my arm. They were the perfect size and they match my quirk.

"Your practical exams will start in an hour, so I suggest that you get warmed up within this hour," Aizawa-sensei says. The pairings for the exams are:

Kirishima Eijirou + (L/n) (Y/n) = Cementos

Bakugou Katsuki + Midoriya = All Might

Asui Tsuyu + Tokoyami Fumikage = Ectoplasm

Iida Tenya + Oojirou Mashirao = Power Loader

Todoroki Shoto+ Yaoyorozu Momo = Eraser Head

My heart aches at that. I don't like the thought of that. 'Shoto and Momo are together again...' I think, 'No no, what are you thinking (Y/n)! They're just being paired up for an exam. An Exam!'

Uraraka Ochako + Aoyama Yuuga = Thirteen

Kaminari Denki + Ashido Mina = Principal Nezu

Koda Koji + Jirou Kyouka = Present Mic

Hagakure Tooru + Shouji Mezo = Snipe

Sero Hanta + Mineta Minoru = Midnight

I go over to Kirishima to plan things out a bit.

"What do you plan to do (L/n)?" Kirishima asks me.

"Hmm, I'm not sure..." I say, "Since cementos is probably going to surround us and attack us with pillars of concrete, if you could knock them down real fast at the beginning, I probably could shot an ice block at him..."

"That would probably work!" he says, "Man it is great to work with someone who has such a powerful quirk..."

"But my quirk is only half of what Todoroki's ice quirk is..." I say to the ground.

"Doesn't mean you're not strong," he says. "Only means Todoroki's extra strong."

I smile, "Thanks. That made me feel better," I say.
