"Wolfpaw could you go check on the elders and see if they need anything while I assign for today's border patrol?"

Wolfpaw poked her head out from her apprentice den when hearing the voice of her mother, Dawnflower, call out her name. She watched as her mother's ginger tabby fur glimmer due to the bright rays from the sun as she waited patiently for her daughter to do what she asked for her to do. She let out a quick sigh as she solemnly nodded her head before leaping out from her den and pad over to the elder's den.

"Thank you, sweetie!" Dawnflower's cheery voice hollered over to Wolfpaw's ears as she kept forcing each pawstep to reach to the elder's den. It was a rather big hollowed out tree trunk where bright green moss covered all around the trunk as long sprouts of grass grew around it, signifying that it was Newleaf. Once entering into the den, Wolfpaw gave a greeting to the three elders calmingly laying down onto their chosen nest.

"Oh Wolfpaw, what a surprise to see you here." A silver tabby she-cat said with a welcoming smile on her face, "Come in, come in, what brings you here little one?"

"Well, Dawnflower wanted me to check in on you all to see if you three needed anything."

The older she-cat thought for a moment as she took quick glimpses at the two other elders that were asleep at the time. "Well, you can just get me something to eat Wolfpaw, been feeling a little empty today, you don't have to worry about these heavy sleepers though, we can ask for another apprentice to get them something, alright."

"Okay Riverstep," Wolfpaw said as she slightly rushed her paced over to the fresh-kill pile. It was a little low, but she knew that there would be a hunting patrol coming back in just a few with plenty more prey to share with the clan. Quickly grabbing a vole from the pile, Wolfpaw made her way back over to the den to meet with Riverstep again.

"Oh voles, my favorite, thank you Wolfpaw," Riverstep said with a smile as Wolfpaw gave her the vole for her to eat. "Are you sure you don't need anything else Riverstep?" Wolfpaw asked with a quizzical look on her face. "No dear I'm fine, you can go back to your mother so that you can finally go on that border patrol you've been so eager to go on." Wolfpaw was almost surprised by how much Riverstep knew what was going on with her and the patrol she was going on. "How did you know?" Riverstep could only keep a giddy grin on her face before taking one more bite out of her vole. "Dear, we may be elders, but it doesn't mean most of our hearing is poor enough to hear your enthusiastic rejoice last night." Wolfpaw almost looked embarrassed by how she heard her sparks of joy last night as she began shuffling her paws nervously. "Oh, you heard that." "Deary, I'm pretty sure the entire clan heard your loud show commence last night," "O-Oh, I'm sorry if I woke you or the other two up due to my loudness last night." Riverstep simply shook Wolfpaw's apology out of the way as she kept a bright smile. "It's alright Wolfpaw, we all have our moments of joy, some of us keep it quiet while the others like to keep it loud, you can't quite control what you feel is right to express deary, if you were forced to keep it in than you'd be nothing but a grouchy elder like Icemask over here." She said with a teasing grin as she pointed her long and sleek tail over to the sleeping white and gray tom next to her. Wolfpaw could only let out a muffled giggle when hearing the little joke she had on Icemask as she could feel her nervousness swoop away from her instantly. "Thanks, Riverstep, I guess I better get going, I'll see you again later to maybe hear some more stories about father when he was younger?" Wolfpaw looked with high hopes as she watched the old silver she-cat let out a chuckle, "Of course dear, I'd be glad to tell you some of the stories of your father, now hurry along, you probably don't want your mother to wait forever for you."

With a simple nod, Wolfpaw quickly ran out from the den straight towards her mother, who was now next to a large black and brown tom with intimidating amber eyes that could pierce the most ferocious predator that would dare attack him. On the other side of her mother was an older speckled black and white warrior, known as Rushdapple, patiently sitting down, waiting for the rest of today's patrol to make it. Next, with who she could see when approaching her mother, was her brother Boltpaw, his bright ginger chest puffed out as his bright green eyes shined out of pride as he sat next to the intimidating tom while keeping a cocky smirk on his face throughout. Next to him was her other brother Harepaw, a gray tabby like her but with a white chest and muzzle, he was much taller than the two but at times was such a huge softy to his sister and loved to rough house with his brother. Other warriors were also around the five that she could see but only cared about making it to her mother.
