"Come on Black Canary, today's the day. I don't want to be late" I said pulling her towards the garage. "Alright, alright" My mentor said following me. I climbed onto my precious baby. It was a black and neon green motorcycle. It matched my outfit. I slide on my helmet and took off. "Race ya there" I said through my ear piece. "Your on, but don't be upset when you loose" Black Canary said as she zoomed past me. I speed up but wasn't able to keep up.

Canary ended up winning. "You cheated" I said climbing off my bike. "No I didn't you just didn't notice your newest improvement Batman did on our bikes" she said smirking. "What!, why didn't you tell me" I said. "Thought you would notice" "whatever I still think you cheated" I said pouting. She rolled her eyes and laughed.

About ten minutes later, Green Arrow, Speedy, Auqaman, Aqualad, Batman and Robin arrived. Soon Flash and Kid Flash zoomed up. "I told you we'd be last" kid flashed complained. I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Today's the day" we all said at once.

We headed into the hall passing reporters and some civilians. KF (AN kid flash) and Robin were talking about being whelmed or something like that. Once inside Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado greeted us and led us inside. "You have full access to the gym and library here, fell free to get comfortable" Martian Manhunter said gesturing to the seats. Robin, KF and Aqualad claimed the only three seats leaving me and speedy standing. I listened in on our mentors conversation. Four ice villain attacks in one day? That's odd I thought. "That's it" speedy said angrily bringing me out of my thoughts. He stormed over to the league members "you promised us full access to the HQ." he said. "We did and this is the first step to becoming members you just need to be more patient roy" Green Arrow said laying a hand on speedys shoulder. "What I need is respect. They're treating us like kids. Worse, like sidekicks! We deserve better than this." Speedy beamed. We all looked down i didn't know what to say. "You're kidding, right? You're playing their game? Why? Because you think they play fair? Today was supposed to be the day, step one in becoming full-fledged members of the League." He added. "Well, sure, but I thought step one was the tour of the HQ." said Kid Flash. "Except the Hall isn't the League's real HQ. I bet they never told you it's just a false front for tourists and a pit stop for catching zeta- beam teleporter-tubes to the real thing, an orbiting satellite called the Watchtower." He said glaring at the league. I looked at Canary and she looked annoyed and Batman gave Green Arrow the bat glare. "You need to stand down son you not helping the situation" aquaman said. Speedy glared at aquaman"I'm not your son, and I thought I was his partner, but I guess I was wrong. I quit" he said taking off his hat and throwing to the floor. He turned and walked out fuming.

"Superman to hall, there's a fire at the Cadmus building.." "Zatara to hall, Wotan is trying to block out the sun, calling all league help" Zatara said interrupting Superman. Batman looked

towards Superman. "The fires small the fire department has it covered. Superman out" he said and he ended the call. " All leaguers rendezvous at Zatara's coordinates. Batman out" he turned to the others "let's go, you four stay here" he said turning to leave "what why" Robin protested " Your not ready-" Flash started but KF interrupted " ready for what!" "not ready to fight with this team" he finished. And with that they all left leaving us four to find something to do.

"When we're ready? How are we ever supposed to be ready when they treat us like-- Like sidekicks?" Kid Flash said annoyed. "My mentor, my king, I thought he trusted me." Aqualad said. "Trust? They don't even trust us with the basics! They've got a secret HQ in space!" KF said. "What else aren't they telling us?" He added. "There must've been some reason" I said "I have a better question.Why didn't we leave with Speedy?" Robin said. everyone remained quiet. "Whats project Cadmus?" I asked. "Don't know, but I can find out." Robin said heading towards the computer and typed away Access denied.

"Heh, Want to bet?" Robin said smirking "Whoa! How are you doing that?" Kid Flash asked. "Same system as the batcave" robin answered. "You gotta show me how to do that" I said watching him work. "sure I will later, ok?" he said. I nodded

- Access granted.

"All right. Project Cadmus. Genetics lab here in D That's all there is, but if Batman's suspicious, maybe we Should investigate." Robin said. " sounds good to me" I said. KF and Aqualad agreed. "Let's get going then" I said heading for the doors. this should be fun.
