Escape Time

I jolted awake and felt myself being hung by my hands. I tried breaking the cuffs but my left hand screamed in protest and i winced from the pain. I looked around and saw Robin, Kf and aqualad in the same type of tube like pod.

They looked like they just woke up as well since they were all looking around the area. "What? What do you want?" I heard KF say and looked straight ahead to see the superman clone looking at us. He didn't answer and KF got angry.

" Quit staring. You're creeping me out." He yelled annoyed. "Uh, KF, how about we not tick off the guy who can fry Us with a look?" Robin said. I slipped out one of my little tools to try and unlock the cuffs. I was only able to work on the right hand since my left hand hurt to much to move. "We only sought to help you." Aqualad said. Probably trying to get the clone to let us go. "We free you, and you turn on us." Aqualad continued.

The clone didn't say anything he just stood there probably thinking or something. "How's that for grat--" KF said but was cut off by aqualad. "Kid, please, be quiet now.
I believe our new friend is not in full control Of his actions." he said.

The clone looked up at aqualad. "Wha--what if-- what if I wasn't?" He said. "He can talk?" KF said surprised. "Yes, he can." the clone said glaring at KF. "Not like I said, it" KF mumbled. "The genomorphs taught you telepathically?" I asked him. " They taught me much. I can read, write. I know the names of things." He said looking at me.

I was about to ask him a question but Robin asked first. "But have you seen them? Have they ever actually let you see the sky or the sun?" He asked. Hey I was gonna ask that, I thought annoyed. "Images are implanted in my mind, but no. I have not seen them." he said turning his gaze to Robin. Wow poor guy, he never even seen the real world. "Do you know what you are, who you are?" KF asked raising his eyebrows.

"I am the Superboy, a genomorph, a clone made from The DNA of the Superman, created to replace him should He perish, to destroy him should he turn from the light." he said. "To be like Superman is a worthy aspiration, but like Superman, you deserve a life of your own beyond that Solar suit, beyond your pod, beyond Cadmus." Aqualad said.
"I live because of Cadmus! It is my home!" he said getting angry. Man he gets angry easily, note to self don't get him angry at you. "Dude, your home is a test tube." KF said. "We can show you the sun-" Robin began but KF cut him of. "Uh, pretty sure it's after midnight, but we can show You the moon." "We can show you, introduce you to Superman." Aqualad said with a small smile.

"No, they can't." said a man wearing a lab coat. He had long brown hair pulled into a low ponytail and glasses. I think hes there boss. "They'll be otherwise occupied. Activate the cloning process." he said looking at Guardian. "Pass. Batcave's crowded enough." Robin said. I smirked at his comment. Five needles came up towards me and i got uneasy. Man i hate needles. "And get the weapon back in its pod!" The scientist said angry. "Hey. How come he gets to call Supey an it?" I looked at him. "Really, KF" i said annoyed. "Please, Help us." Aqualad said right when the process started. The needles went into my chest and started to take my blood. I twisted in pain and closed my eyes in pain grunting.

"Don't start thinking now. See, you're not a real boy. You're a weapon, and you belong to me! Well, to Cadmus." The scientist ordered the clone. "Same thing" I heard Guardian say. "Now get back to your pod! Where's dubbilex?" he asked i think Guardian. "Ooh! Lurking as usual." I heard the scientist say. "Get the g-gnomes downloading their memories. When that's done delete the source material." that doesn't sound to good i thought. I continued working on the restraints but the pain was making it hard to concentrate. "I told you to get back to your" the scientist started but was cut off. "Don't give me orders." the clone said turning off the machines. I sighed in relief and finally finished freeing my right cuff. I put my feet against the walls to stop myself from hanging from my bad hand and continued to release the left cuff. "You here to help us or fry us?" I heard KF ask. "Huh. I don't seem to have heat vision, so I suppose Helping is my only option." the clone said. I held a laugh and finished with my left cuff. I dropped to the floor into a crouch and stretched before going to help the others.
