Chapter 11: Heart Of Ice

Sometime later, Nate, Tenzin and I walked along a snowy mountain path and reached a statue outside a cave. "Well, this looks inviting." I said with sarcasm while Nate points to a sign on the side of the statue. "What's it say?" Nate asked Tenzin, who answers him in Tibetan. Nathan nods at this and I shake my head. "Why do I ask?" Nate said as Tenzin as he continues speaking Tibetan and moves his hands. "We're not so good with charades, pal..." I said then Tenzin draws out a sword on his back and walks off. "Wait...Tenzin! Why do you need that...?" Nate asked him as we follow Tenzin into the cave.

Tenzin kneels down in the snow as we reach a large gap. "Oh man, there's no way we're getting across there." I said as I look down at the gap. "What you got there?" Nate asked Tenzin, who holds up a rappel and speaks.
"What?" Nate and I said as Tenzin starts swinging the rappel. "Yeah, good luck pal, that's almost impossible to -" Nate started to say until the rappel catches onto a hook in the rock wall above us. "--oh, you did it. Nice." Nate said while Tenzin swings across the gap. "Sure, let's just swing across on the seventy year old rope." Nate said I swing across the gap while Tenzin climbs down a ladder. "I hope you know where you're going, buddy..." I said as Nate swings across and lands next to me.

We follow Tenzin down the ladder and through a tunnel as Tenzin speaks again. "Exactly. That's what I was thinking." Nate said as we follow Tenzin through two narrow gaps of an icy wall. We reach a small encampment below us and approach a tent. "Looks like we're on the right track, but there is nothing here...this can't be what Schäfer meant." I said as Tenzin picks up another rappel next to the tent. He speaks again and points to a white wolf above us. "Oh, that way, sure...Those things bite, you know." Nate said while Tenzin throws the rappel up onto another hook and swings across to another tunnel. Nate and I swing across the gap and follow Tenzin through the tunnel.

"Hey - what's the big hurry? Hello?" Nate calls out as we follow Tenzin across several snow-covered platforms. "These are snow boots, not track shoes." I said as I see a group of three white wolves watching from a platform across a large gap. "More wolves...fantastic." I said as the wolves walk off.

Moments later, we follow Tenzin over to a dead body lying on a narrow icy bridge. "What'd you find?" Nate asked as Tenzin rolls the body over onto its back. "He's been dead a long time." Nate said Tenzin finds a piece of paper on the body and shows it to us. Nate unfolds the piece of paper, revealing it to be a drawing of the Cintamani Stone. "The Cintamani Stone - must've been one of Schäfer's men." He said as I look at the drawing and the bridge starts cracking.

"Wha -?" We said then Tenzin, Nate and I run back across the bridge as it collapses underneath us. Nate jumps and grabs hold of a platform then he pulls himself back up. "(Y/n) ...Tenzin, c'mon." Nate yells as Tenzin and I run over to him. "All right. I'll give you a boost." Nate said to Tenzin, who speaks again. "What? Yeah, we still don't speak that..." Nate said then I sigh then turn to Nate. "I'll go first." I said and Nate gives me a boost up to a ladder. Then I turn around and help Nate up on the platform.

Then we follow the path around to another gap and find Tenzin waiting on the other side. "C'mon, I'll catch you!" Nate shouts.
Tenzin runs and jumps across the gap and Nate reaches his arm out and grabs hold of Tenzin. "I got you -" He said as he pulls Tenzin up. "Ah, there you go. You owe me one, pal." He said as Tenzin picks up another rappel and throws it up onto another hook then swings across to a small platform. Nate and I swing across and land on the platform just as the platform breaks away. Tenzin grabs Nate's hand, who grabs my hand at the same time, and pulls us up.

"Okay, we're even." Nate said as we follow Tenzin through another tunnel and hear a growling noise. "What the hell was that?" I asked as we climb up to another platform. We jump across to another platform and find the white wolves have been slaughtered. "Holy shit... What did this?" Nate said in shock as my jaw dropped while Tenzin crouched down beside the wolves. "This - what did this?" I asked and Tenzin speaks. "Yeah... c'mon." Nate mutters to us while Tenzin speaks again.
