Walking home alone in the dark is weird, but not necessarily scary. I just think of it as a time to think about stuff. I head back to my house, all alone. Mostly I think about school tomorrow and how I should probally get my assignment done. "Oh well." I say to myself as I shrug off the feeling of stress from my shoulders. "Ill get it done in the morning."
I reach my doorstep, and turn around to look at the city around me. I live in San Fransisco in an old apartment building. The lights from the buildings are like fireflies by a lake. I unlock my door and head inside to my room. My rooms lights were on, so I leave them like that. My bed squeaks as I jump onto it and lay there. I check the time on my phone; 12:04. Closing my eyes, I drift into sleep.
I wake up to my alarm clock. 6:00 it says. I rub my eyes and crawl out of bed. Yay... Monday morning. I yawn as I head out of my room to the kitchen. Bread is on the counter already sliced, ready to be toasted. My mom is standing in the kitchen, making coffee. "Hey." I say, looking up to her.
"Goodmorning darling." She smiles as I come around the corner. "Would you like some toast and jam?" She offers.
"Uh, yes please." My stomach growls as she mentions food. She smiles. I grab my school books and finish up my project while my bread toasts. I hear the familiar 'pop!' Of the toaster and put my food on a plate. "Mhm. Yum!" I say through a mouth full of bread. I thank my mom and go to my room to change. Monday... What classes do I have today? "Ugh, i have gym today." I grumble to myself as I go to my closet. I pick out a light pink tank top with blue lace flowers on the sleeves and chest area. My pants are just ripped jean shorts. I pull of my pajamas shirt and pants and pull on my cloths. After, I go to my bathroom and brush my teeth and hair. My hair is light brown originally, but I died it to be light blue with brown roots. Its medium length, and looks fine without being styled. I dont wear makeup usually, but today I put on some blush and moisturizing cream on my nose so my skin doesnt dry out. I also just put on some pink lip gloss that matches my shirt. I run out of the door and grab my bags for school. I kiss my mom goodbye and grab the car keys. I jump in our 2002 Volvo and drive off to school.
