"Morning love bug!" My mom calls from downstairs as my alarm clock goes off at seven. I see you have school today.
"Wha-" I'm cut short by the sound of fire alarms. "MOM! What the hell is going on!"
"I dont know!"
"Please tell me you didn't set the stove in fire again." We laugh in the midst of smoke detectors belching water.
"No I didnt. I almost did. Hey I think it woukd be a good idea to call the fire department, dont you think?"
"Mhm, no kidding." I grab my phone and dial 911. 911 what's your emergency? "Hello" I say. "Our smoke detectors are going and we are being showered in the water from them." I stop short. I smell smoke. The operator on the call mumbles something and I say, " What?" Adress please. Oh. "98 beachbury street." Thank you. We will be right there. "Mom lets get out of the house. I smell smoke."
"Yeah." Stepping out on the deck, I go dead silent. "Hun, what's wrong? Your very quiet all of a sudden."
"Mom... I just saw a person scuttle across out yard right after blowing out a match."
"YOU WHAT!?!"
