It was over. All the madness was over. The murders. Marie felt relieved. She was sitting on a chair in the reception at the stuidos thinking about what she had just winessed. FlorenceHart and LLoyd Parks were both cold blooded, vicious killers who were going to pay the price. Although she was plain evil Hart would probably be tried as insanity. Lloyd would be in prison for twenty-five years.
Also she was glad that Roryhadn't been the murderer. She'd thought about it on the taxi ride there and was concerned but had forced herself to doubt it. He was sweet. Not exactly charming or dashing but was a nice guy. She started to consider if she had feelings for him. She wasn't sure of anything. That was normal.
She didn't want to think about it for any longer. She was confused. She pulled out her phone and started to talk on her social network page.
'Just saw this insane lady try to kill this guy!!! LOL :)', she typed. She was about to click share but then realised she'd probably get in trouble with the police for some stupid reason and got rid of it. Just as she slipped her phone into her pocket she felt a tap on her shoulder and looked up. Rory Blink was standing over her with a large grin on his face.
She stood up and grinned too. ''Is the taxi here yet because I'm so bored of this crime scene'', she said jokingly. It took Rory a few seconds to realise that she had just told a joke, a that, a rubbish joke too.
''Yeah'', he said, ''it's waiting outside for us. We're supposed to get a few visits from the police asking us about waht we saw upstairs. But other than that we should be left alone''.
''Well that's great. And also we'll never have to hear from that idiot Inspector again. He's such an idiot''.
''Yeah. Well it was amusing to have him around and stuff because he tried to play it cool. He's really just a stupid old policeman trying to be ''hip''.
''Well enough about that old geezer'', she said following him into the taxi, ''more about you. What about your career. Since Hot Flames is over what are you going to do?''
''Hmmm...I'm not sure. Well I've made a good bit of 'dosh' to keep me going for the next five years. Until then I'm not sure. I'll probably find something''.
''Yeah how could you not'', she replied.
He smiled and told the driver to drop them off at her place. She gave him a look, ''So we're now hanging out at my place now are we'', she stared.
His grin fell into a nrevous shiver. ''S-sorry I just thought because we were sort of dating and all'', he said shaking.
''Wait a moment we're dating now are we Rory?''
He froze. There was silence in the taxi. They both looked at each other with bewilderment. You could have cut the tension in the cab. Eventually Marie spoke up. ''Do you want to date?''
He thought for a second. Dating was never something he was much good at yet he felt as if he should try it. ''Do you want to date?''
''Well, I wouldn't mind, I suppose. You're a cute guy. I'm a nice girl. I don't see why it wouldn't work. What do you think?''
''Yeah as you said, I don't see why it couldn't work. Yeah i think we should. We should, you know date and stuff''.
''Yeah I think we should. But we should take it slow. Very slow. We wouldn't want to rush straight into something and then realise we weren't that cool with each other. You know''.
''Yeah I know what you mean. Well do you want to go for dinner or get a takeaway or something like that?''
''Nah sorry, I've got a few things to get done at hime and stuff. What about tomorrow? Does that suit you? Or some other time''.
''Yeah'', he said smiling,''tomorrow suits. Where?''
She thought for a second and came to a conclusion. ''What about the nice old Indian restaurant on Main Street you know the one''.
''Yeah that sounds good'. He looked out the window and saw that they had arrived at her house. Marie noticed too and hopped out of the car and waved at him nicely.
He waved back and the taxi drove off into the steamy mist.
