New Girl pt. 4

Fern POV

I wander around the tower looking for something to do. Now that school is over I don't know what to do with myself for the next three months before 11th grade starts. I flip over on the couch and lay my head on Steve's lap.

"I'm bored dad" I say.

"Go fix the dishwasher Tony broke trying to program FRIDAY into it." He suggests not looking away from his drawing. "Or should I say, he blew it up instead of broke" he chuckles. I smile. I walk into the kitchen to all the dishwasher in pieces. Or at least the prices that are still there.

I roll my eyes and get in my knees to fix it. I stick my tongue out a bit. I do it when I'm concentrating really hard. My dad says it's cute to watch. 

I have oils and food grease all over me at this point and I'm only about halfway done fixing it. I hear footsteps and assume it dad or Tony. I look up to see my favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

"Hey Pete" I say looking back to the bolt I was tightening.

"You want help?" He asks crouching down by me.

"Yeah sure. Can you connect those two wires and short circuit the hard-rive please?" I ask looking for loose bolts I may have missed.

"Sure." He chirps. We keep working and we catch each other' s mistakes. I feel a splatter of liquid on my face. I look over to see Peter with a shit eating grin.

"Did you just?" I ask narrowing my eyes and smirking. He shrugs all innocently and smiles. "Oh that's it!" I say standing up. He starts to run and I chase him. He jumps over couches and climbed up walls to try and escape me but he's actually slowing himself down considering I can fly and boost myself over objects my wings easily.

Finally I can grab his arm and twist it behind his back.

"Gotcha!" I say.

"Ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow" He says quickly. I let of if his arm and fold my wings into my back again. I cross my arms and smirk. He turns around quickly and starts to run again. He runs outside the compound and since we got moved to a more desolate location we are surrounded by grassland and forest. I fly above the trees trying to find him. Then I see a sliver of blue in the tall grass.

He's standing in the open plain of tall grass trying to figure out where I went. I fly from behind him and tackle him to the ground and pin him down. We start laughing now that he finally conceded and admitted that I won.

I get off of him and sit in a pretzel using my right hand to hold me upright. The grass is so tall when I sit like this I can't be seen unless your next to me. Peter sits across from me and we just sit in silence for awhile.

I watch the grass move in wave like patters bowling in the wind. I look at his simple features. He has his head back and his eyes closed just soaking up all the sunlight that hits him. I love his hazel eyes and chocolate brown hair. His curls will kill me one day sure of it.

I lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek. He opens his eyes quickly and looks at me like I've gone mad.

"Sorry bud, I didn't think I'd miss." I say shrugging.

"What do you mean?" He asks honestly curious. I put a hand on his cheek and he does the same thing to me. I lean forward as does he and close the space between us. His lips are soft and warm against mine. My heart flutters as he cups my face with his other hand.His lips move against mine. I pull away slowly not looking away from his gorgeous hazel eyes. I kiss him on the nose before standing up and offering him a hand. He takes it gladly and I pull him up. With no warning I say quickly,

"Race you back to the house!" And I take off. I can see the little bit of blue from his shirt chasing me. I beat him to the front door. I smirk and we walk in. I go to Tony's lab to tinker with something.

Peter's POV

Ok, now I have to ask her out. She did the hard part for me and made the first move. Now I have to ask her out. Maybe I should ask Steve first since they are basically father and daughter now. I walk up to him and sit next to him.

"Hey Mr. Rogers sir?" I ask him. He turns his head and looks at me.

"Yeah kid, what's up?" He asks.

"I was going to ask if maybe I could ask Fern out?" I ask very quietly. He looks at me for a bit before a smile appears on his face.

"Yes Peter you can." He says but then he adds, "if you hurt her she will put you in the hospital and once your out I'll put you back in there for good. Understood?" He asks. I nod quickly.

I take a deep breath and walk into Tony's lab to find Fern correction Tony's apparently many mistakes.

"Hey Fern can I talk to you real quick?" I ask. She smiles and walks over to me and Tony goes back to his formula.

"What's up?" She asks.

"Well, uh, I was wondering if you would like to go to like a movie or something with me. Or maybe just hang out and watch Netflix. Ya know, either one really." I say scratching the back of my neck.

"Yes, absolutely." She smiles. I smile too. "How about we just watch Netflix and eat ice cream or something?" She suggests. I smile even wider know this is the one I want to marry. She presses her lips to mine and pulls away. "See you tonight Pete" She says before going back to Tony. I walk out of the lab only to see Steve just outside the doorway.

"If your already going to kiss her you better treat her like the god damned queen of Asgard." He says pointing a finger at me.

"She doesn't deserve anything less" I assure him.
