Some Research

The next day at school, the first thing that caught Tobirama's attention was Asahi leading the new girl Konan, who he found out wasn't human just yesterday, around the school while showing her around. He still hasn't had a clue about why this nonhuman transfer student was so interested in his friend. He would need to get Asahi alone and explain everything to him. He never got the chance though since they have all classes together which is another thing to add to his suspicion list and always walk the halls together. The club is still canceled so talking to him then is out of the question.

Now that he thinks about it, would telling him be a good idea? If Tobirama had a bad feeling then the person must be strong. Any sudden emotional change in Asahi towards Konan may cause suspicion and cause her plan to speed up and become dangerous. He doesn't sense any type of bloodlust from her so she may only attack when needed or is just hiding it well. His senses were dulled from not having chakra anymore so he was just using his animal instincts to detect any danger. Increased with experience of a ninja war veteran and not a lot can get passed it. Nothing but magic that is.

Doing research about the ruins that appeared below the teleportation led him to believe that either a ritual or magic was involved and he seems to be going for the ladder. Rituals usually take more than one step to accomplish so either he missed something while exploring the empty alley after Konan teleported or it was a magical supernatural force that caused the instantaneous movement.

Now, this may be a problem since there are different kinds of magic such as summoning weapons and teleporting but Tobirama couldn't help but think 'Can humans also learn magic?' Now, Tobirama had seen two different kinds of species other than human and both had supernatural powers. There may be a chance for humans to tap in that potential of learning magic and taking down the threats of the town. Sure Tobirama didn't know how to learn or even if his body held that type of potential but having a chance to gain power and not being weak anymore caught Tobirama's interest.

If he was in a rush then he would play the stupid card of either asking Konan, an unknown character, or god forbid their crow winged attacker which he isn't that desperate to learn and would mean his certain death. He had thought about tracking the crow down and putting an end to its life but tracking a winged supernatural creature wasn't easy and picking a fight at the stage he is in now is a no go. Tobirama and Asahi only made him retreat since they were being underestimated.

He decided to keep quiet about Konan and to find a way to learn about magic. Doing research on the internet wasn't enough since only fanfictions and stories popped up and looking up crow winged man just gave him a picture of a fallen angel. (Now I can name them as such if I mention the attacker.) 'A fallen angel? Like angels that were expelled from heaven? Are angels real too? Then wouldn't god also exist? God this is giving me another headache. Then how do those bat-winged creatures come into play? Maybe Konan is a vampire who wants Asahi's blood? Seems unlikely from how he isn't sucked dry yet.'

After a long browse of the internet and finding out nothing more about the creatures or magic, he decided to play risky. Over the browsing, he noticed that people say that mythical creatures could be summoned through a ritual. Sure most of them seemed ridiculous but deep in the web, there may be a ritual that may work. Spending a few hours collecting materials around the house and following step by step through the shown rituals online which received a few weirded out glances from his parents led to no success and a giant mess of candle wax and salt everywhere. Sure he did feel stupid but that still wouldn't get him to give up.

Tobirama knew that a Kendo stick couldn't help him take out supernatural creatures so if magic can give him an advantage, then no matter how big the risk, unless if it puts any lives in danger, then it should be worth it.

Almost 800 words. Word count is getting a little lower and I apologize but I only have one month of school left so I'm trying to focus a lot of time on studying.

I'm also grateful how this story has 100 views but off how it only has one comment which was myself (not that I'm complaining or anything) and also how high this is rated in the #highschooldxd out of 1K stories. I believe it's at 26 so thanks for that fellow readers. Never expected this story to make it that high up.
