Walking down to his room Ant found himself reading his favourite comic for the hundredth time. He couldn't wait till the sequel came out. Humming a random tune, he sat down while his chocolate gaze drank in every detail of every picture. He was fascinated by the storyline. All the foreshadowing, plot twists, and the relationships. That being rivals, love interests, family, etcetera. All of it was well written and made sense. But you could never guess what was coming next. It was like you were in the comic yourself
The masked figure ran down the hall. His breath was even and calm, while his feet remained unnaturally silent. He jumped up to a ceiling beam.
"Hey, what do you think the boss wants with us?" A guard asked his companion as they walked below him. Both held an unconscious girl of whom they had captured.
"The girl you dim-wit!" The other exclaimed with annoyance. The girl was the masked man's mission.
'retrieve Alice Fendiline. Bring her in for questioning. See what her skill sets are and train her up in the ones that aren't set in stone.' Director Anaheim explained sharply, coldly.
'Of course, sir. But, don't you already know her skill set.' The man, Agent Boston, asked innocently.
'Not enough, her profile has too many gaps to fill them in ourselves. Now don't test me again.' Anaheim glared at him harshly. Boston nodded.
'Yes sir.' Turning the most skilled agent the world has known set off on his mission.
After recalling the Directors orders, he grabbed his weapon of choice, baton like taser sticks, and jumping down, he slammed the batons into the side of the first guard, the 'dim-wit', after that he jumped forward while the other was still coming out of confusion, he bashed one of the electric sticks into the back of their head. Scooping the girl, Alice Fendiline, into his arms he left before the alarms could be sounded.
Ant grinned as he flipped the page. Once again immersing himself in the book. Of course, having read it all before, he knew what was to come. Alice would be questioned after she wakes, then she would train and slowly her witty comments during training draw Drew Boston into a web of fuzzy feelings. He never confesses in this comic, but Alice does show feelings for none other than the Directors right hand man, Agent Michele Sanders, however she is rejected by the cold hearted man and becomes overly guarded till the end of the book where she opens up to one of the female assassins -being one herself meant that the two often worked together, forming a friendship- and she give Agent Fendiline the advice to not give up on the others around her.
"Ant, your needed on the bridge, right now!" His mothers voice cut his reading off, and, while he complained about the interruption, went over to see what the problem was.
Fontaine joined him on the way, and they discussed what possible thing could get their calm and stubborn mother so irritated.
"I don't know... Pirates?" Ant turned to her sister with a thoughtful gaze.
She contemplated this for a few moments as they jogged to the bridge, then she remembered her discussion with Jess only hours ago. Blushing faintly, she both hoped it to be true and to be not.
"Probably." She replied when she felt certain that her voice would not waver like her heart belted against her chest as she thought of Hammerhead's heir. Ant was staring at her suspiciously.
What's she thinking about?
"Eh, we've bet them heaps of times before, we definitely won't lose today." He commented, half heartily leaping the rest of the way. Fontaine sighed at his childish behaviour. She followed as she thought about all the times, they easily bet the pirate clan. Chuckling the two entered the bridge after some playful banter between them.
