Avengers Assemble

Narrator's POV

Tony walked around in the rubble left from the explosion.

"Come on, Buddy. Wake up." He gave Steve a gentle kick.

"Ah!" Steve gasped as he laid on the ground.

"That's my man." Tony said. He placed Steve's shield on his chest. "Loose this again. I'm keeping it."

"Hah." Steve looked around. "What happened?" He asked.

"You mess with time, it tends to mess back. You'll see." Tony said, giving Steve a hand.

Tony and Steve made their way through rubble only to find Thor staring at a big purple menace.

"What's he been doing?" Steve asked.

"Absolutely nothing." Thor answered him.

"Where are the stones?" Steve asked.

"Somewhere under all this." Tony answered. "All I know is he doesn't have them."

"So we keep it that way." Steve said.

"You know it's a trap, right?" Thor asked them both.

"Yeah, I don't much care." Tony said.

"Good." Thor told him. "Just as long as we're all in agreement."

}Crack{

Thunder clapped in the skies above them as clouds shifted.

Lighting struck Thor. He reached both of his hands out. Mjölnir and Stormbreaker came to him. He was ready for battle.

"Let's kill him properly this time." Thor said.

Thanos looked up at the three approaching him. A smile formed on his lips.

"You couldn't not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you?" Thanos spoke. "Back to me."

Steve, Tony and Thor kept coming closer.

"I thought by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive...but you've shown me that's impossible." Thanos paused. "As long as there's those who remember what once was, there will always be those that are unable of accepting what can be and will resist."

Tony watched Thanos closely.

"Yup. We're all kinds of stubborn." Tony said.

"I'm thankful." Thanos looked at Steve. He looked back at Tony. "Because now, I know what I must do." The titan stood up. "I will shred this universe down to its last atom. And then, for the stones you've collected for me..." Thanos put on his helmet. "...create a new one. Teaming with life." Thanos took his weapon in hand. "That knows not what has been lost, but what is given."

Thor armed himself with lightning.

"A grateful universe." Thanos finished.

"Born out of blood." Steve told him.

"They'll never know it because you won't be alive to tell them." Thanos took a stance.

"YAAAAAAAAARGH!" Thor leaped into the air and toward Thanos.

Tony flew up and shot beams at Thanos.

Steve began to attack. The three went at it together.

Tony landed on the ground with a loud thud. A large power generator opened at the back of his suit.

"Okay, Thor. Hit me." He said.

"Argh!" Thor used Mjölnir and Stormbreaker to send lighting into Tony's generator.
