A/N: it's been a while since I updated this book so I'm just going to write a thingy based off Tokyo Ghoul since I just got hooked on it a few weeks ago. I uh... I'm on chapter 70 something now chapter 79? I think? oh and if you're reading this one recently I edited the ending to be a paragraph or two instead of just a damn sentence because I was in a hurry and didn't have time to write a better ending but just WANTED to publish it then and there. enjoy!

---------------------

It's late at night in the busy city of Tokyo. The lights from streetlamps illuminate the otherwise dark streets, and shops glowing with a dim light, closed for the night, ready to be filled with life and bustle all over again the next day. A pair of two young men in their early twenties were walking together from who knows where, chatting with great interest in the topic and laughing. The quiet air blew a gentle cold breeze, and leaves from trees and bushes rustled with the flow of the air. It distracted one of the men from their talk, and he shivered as he rubbed his arms with his hands and hunched over slightly to keep warm.

This attracted the attention of the other, and he asked to the shivering man, "are you okay?" To which the other replied with a "yeah, I'm fine." The man who asked the other still thought something needs to be done. His dark brown eyes looked into amber orbs with concern. "You sure?" He asked again, and the other nodded hurriedly.

"Listen, Jerome, I'm flattered to know you concern about me, but I'm fine really." The man with amber eyes said as he moved his hands up and down his rather muscular arms. Another gust blew and he zipped up his checkered hoodie higher.

"Alright, if you say so," Jerome muttered. "Hey, you know what would be really cool?"

"What?" The man in the checkered hoodie asked.

"It'd be really cool if we like, met a ghoul or something, don't you think so, Mitch?"

The man with the hoodie, Mitch, jumped up at the question. "Are you crazy? Those ghouls are really scary, plus, a lot of people have lost their loved one to those ghouls! Are you not even afraid of them?"

Jerome shook his head lightly. "I don't think so, they're just really cool to me, you know?"

Mitch sighed deeply and looked to his right. "Oh, hey, I know this alley, its a shortcut to a shop I know. I'm pretty sure it's closed up by now though." What Mitch is looking at is a long, narrow, and dark alleyway, cardboard boxes blocking half of the road and the walls of the alley crumbling and cracked like broken cookies. (A/N: I don't know??? what's a better comparison than brooen cookies??)

"I don't know, Mitch. It doesn't really look trustworthy or safe to me." Jerome whined and took a step backwards away from the alley.

"Oh, come on, it's safe! I use this shortcut almost everyday, and I never even encountered a petty thief or thug before! Even late at night, like right now!" He persuaded. Jerome thought for a moment, processing Mitch's words before hesitantly agreeing to go through the shortcut. "Alright, let's go through." He said. Mitch grinned and pulled at Jerome's hand, dragging him along through the alley.

Barely any light was seen, and the alley was dark on the moonless and starless night. The small paassage theough was not helping either, as Jerome was having second thoughts about going through the shortcut. He kept on asking when will the shortcut end and when will they get through to the other side, but Mitch kept on saying things like, "not long from now", "just turn this one corner", "almost there", and "not far from here" as responses as he stepped over boxes, walked over fallen bycicles and dodging fallen drain pipes.
