--------------

I used to rule the world

Seas would rise when I gave the word

Now in the morning I sleep alone

Sweep the streets I used to own

Adam. The former ruler of a vast kingdom. He was the greatest king his kingdom had, even better than his father and his ancestor, the first King. But it all fell down, his kingdom no more. A civilization lost to war, to beasts, to barbarians. The only survivors is the king himself and seven other knights serving under him. All now nomads, bearing with the harsh wilderness, away from home, from comfort, with only each other to get by each day.

I used to roll the dice

Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes

Listen as the crowd would sing,

"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

The kingdom fell during a time of peace, where everyone was happy under the rule of the wise and beloved young King Adam. Not a single villager in the kingdom was discontent, or unhappy, or in poverty, or oppressed or belittled. The nobles and the peasants lived in harmony together, the young king ruling over with a gentle hand, a hand offering love and peace.

One minute I held the key

Next the walls were closed on me

And I discovered that my castles stand

Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

But even peaceful times need to end. A rival kingdom attacked our beloved king's castle, the rival king's knights and warriors murdering all of the livestock the villagers had, trampled on the crops, murdered the women and children, captured and enslaved the men, tortured the elderly. Our king's knights tried their best to defeat the rival knights, but only a quarter of the ten thousand knights returned, most injured heavily. The citizens who managed to flee without getting caught or killed left to find the village their king had built in case something like this happened. The seven knights who served to protect King Adam escorted him out the castle, and they fled their home.

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing

Roman Cavalry choirs are singing

Be my mirror, my sword and shield

My missionaries in a foreign field

Our king and the seven brave knights, named Mitch, Jerome, Quentin, Ian, Ty, Jason, and Seto fled into the wilderness in hope to escape the bloodthirsty barbarians of knights. They would camp and hunt in one part of the wilderness, then leave the next day without leaving a trace of them being there, then move to another spot, living like nomads.
