Asher
Throughout the night, he couldn't get any sleep as Juliet's thoughts haunted him. There was something about her that intrigued him.
Juliet. Never had any girl been on his mind as much as her, in fact he didn't really look at any girl most of the time. Juliet made him want to protect her, keep her safe and make her happy. He didn't know why but he knew he had to help her.
What did she mean by he could kill you in a second? Who was that man? These questions haunted him all night and he still didn't had a single answer for any of the questions.
Looking at himself in the mirror, he could see bags under his eyes and a frown upon his face. Quickly finishing his daily rountine, he went down for breakfast only to find his father still in the dining room.
"Good morning, Asher, " his father says, looking up from the newspaper.
" Good morning, " Asher replies in a cold voice. His father wouldn't be in the house this late unless he had something to say to Asher and Asher knew exactly what his father wanted to say.
" You skipped another day in school." Though he was making a statement, Asher could hear questions asking about his whereabouts and what he was doing.
" I didn't feel like going to school." was all Asher said before getting an apple from the counter and turning to head back upstairs.
" Wait Asher. I am not done talking with you." His father got up from his seat and walking up to Asher. " Do you remember what I told you? If you skip one more day in school, I will take away all of your freedom."
" Be my guest. It's not like you can stop me from doing what I want. Your threats are useless." Asher says while smirking.
His father could try all he wanted but he was never going to win. Asher would always rebel against his father.
The last time his father had grounded him, ten bodyguards ended up in the hospital. He had maybe by accident hit them too hard. Whenever he felt a bit guilty, his subconscious mind would say, Hey, it was their fault for trying to block him.
Plus he knew his friends would always be there to help him escape. He still remembered when they were about 15 years old, his father had grounded him for smashing his car. Logan had hacked into the security system and unlocked all the gates while Jackson and Eric had dealt with the guards. They all escaped but were soon found.
“ But I can tell you everything about the girl you saved last night. I know you want to see her again."
Asher never knew how his father got information like this. When he was young, a kid had been bullying him and before he knew it, his father had dealt with it. Although things had changed after the death of his mother, his father still kept tabs on him and things Asher held close to his heart. But it was only to blackmail him.
This was another reason why he hated his father. That man lived like his only purpose was to control Asher's life completely.
" What makes you think that I won't be able to find it out on my own?" Asher questions confidently. He already had asked Logan to hack into the government system to find information on Juliet and Eric to look through his connections in regards to why she was so scared.
He was going to go meet them later in the afternoon. There they would surely ask him a thousand more question than his father.
" Sorry to burst your bubble, Son, but your petty friends, Logan and Eric won't be able to even scratch the surface about her life."
"There is nothing that will stay in the dark for too long. You should know that better than anyone else, Father." Asher was beyond pissed at his father.
"You better watch that mouth of yours. Why do you always have to go against me? Do you always have to pick fights? " His father was livid in anger but Asher didn't care.
" I was helping the girl. What was I suppose to do leave her?"
"Don't get involved in other's business, Asher. That man you meet yesterday was dangerous.Very dangerous."
Never one to listen to his father, he just shrugged him off.
" I am not as incompetent as you think.I can handle myself very well. " was all he said before grabbing his keys to leave the house.
He didn't hear the words his father said as he left the house, " That boy will never change. He always wants things that bring a lot of trouble."
