So, most sources say that the Stranger Things series is based off of a place In Montauk, NY.
If they get even more spicific, they say the Brookhaven National Laboratory(it's like an hour away from Montauk).
Well, my step-grandma grew up over by the Brookhaven National Lab and has family she goes and visits every now and then that live up there. She and my grandpa introduced me to Stranger Things and they love it just as much as I do. So, they decided to go to the Brookhaven National lab to get me some pictures. For some reason, the security guards didn't like them taking pictures. Anyway, here is a picture of the sign from out front
