Icea and Kumiko each with two pups clenched in their teeth dashed through the thick forest, the urge of Kumiko’s excitement flowing through the air.

Once they got there Kumiko glanced a questioning look to Icea. Icea just flicked her ear as a signal to follow her. Kumiko heeled behind her. Icea stopped, and started to go slower, until they reached a small, one dog den, and Icea came to a complete stop. An ominous fright floated through the air. Icea had an eerie feeling trickling through the pulse of her veins. She directed Kumiko inside. When Kumiko got in she laid her pups down beside her stomach, Icea dropping her other pup and the foster pup down with the other pups.

Icea stared at the pups, already suckling on their mothers teat. The golden retriever puppy stood out in the crowd, obviously being brighter pelted than the other pups. Icea turned her attention to Kumiko.

“Thank you for taking care of the pup.” She said, dipping her head.

“Your welcome!” she said with a bark. For such a big dog, her bark wasn’t to low.

“So, you hungry?” asked Icea.

“Yes, that journey was long for me.” Said Kumiko with a low growl of laughter.

Icea returned with another rabbit, a big fat one she found roaming around an old garden. She dropped it in front of Kumiko, then walked out the tiny, cramped den.

“Aren’t you going to have any?” asked Kumiko curiously.

“Nah, I’m tired, I need to rest.” Said Icea, curling up outside the den.

“Okay.” Said Kumiko.

The last thing Icea heard before drifting off was the sound of little pups snoring.

Icea rose her head to the moonlit sky, stars twinkling, fading, then reappearing. Icea stood up, stomach growling angrily. Her hunger finally caught her. She walked feet away, spotting another rabbit inches away. She slowly bent down, as the rabbit got closer. The rabbit was small enough that when it got close enough, Icea smacked it dead with her big paw. To finish it off she bit its neck, as the body became limp.

Icea carried it back to the spot she slept in. She gobbled it up, then lay her head on the the ground she then closed her yes eyes, drifting off to sleep. But for some reason, she couldn’t sleep, because the creepy feeling she was being watched crept through her spine, stiffening her body. She had the feeling something unknown was coming, and it was getting closer and closer.
