"you don't have a
knife to throw at me?"

"C'mon, pick up!" Odette whispered to herself as she waited on Diego to answer his phone.

"Ay yo, this is Diego. I'll call-" Odette turned off the phone as soon as she heard his voicemail for the third time. She had spent almost an entire day sleeping from how mentally and physically exhausted she was. When she woke up, she started panicking as the thoughts from the day before came back into her mind.

She tried to call him for the fourth time in the past few minutes, but once again it went to voicemail. She threw her phone onto her bed then looked at the mess in her room. Rolling her eyes, Odette grabbed a jacket, her keys, and her phone and walked out of the house.

While walking out, her phone began buzzing and the name 'Diego' flashed across the screen. She quickly answered the call, "Diego, what the fu-"

"Odette?" A females voice from the other side of the line answered, "it's Allison. Diego left his phone here."

"Oh, uh, hi, Allison. Where exactly did he go?" She asked Allison, locking her house door behind her.

Allison took a moment before answering, "The police station."

Odette immediately yelled, "What the fuck do you mean 'police station'?"

She jogged to her car and got in before Allison could even answer, "They think he, uh, murdered someone."

Odette sighed, "What an idiot. Okay, I'm going to the station to see what the hell is happening and I'll keep you guys updated."

"Yeah, please, that would be great." Allison said, relieved that someone else could take care of the situation at hand. Allison knew that if anyone could get him out, it would be her and her knack to always be right.

Odette turned the phone off, reversed out of her spot, and drove to the police station. She parked her car in the closest spot to the building that she could find and swung open the massive door. She asked the cop at the front desk for Diego Hargreeves, but the older man just shook his head, "He's gonna be awhile, sweetheart."

She thanked him then rolled her eyes at how stupid Diego was. Odette found a spot in the waiting area to sit and just a few moments later a detective walked up to her.

"Odette? Are you here for Diego?" Detective Chuck Beamen asks, looks down at her.

She chuckled at the detective, "Of course I am. I've been bailing him out for as long as I can remember."

He nodded his head, "Yeah, I know. Why do you keep doing it?"

Odette sighed, "Cause he would do the same for me. Have you talked to him?"

The detective nodded his head, "Yeah. He didn't do it, I know that for a fact, but they want to transfer him upstate. He needs to convince the right people that he didn't do anything." He leaned forward, "I also kind of gave him the key to escape."

Odette laughed, "Are you serious?"

Detective Beamen nodded his head and Odette jumped out of her seat, "You're the best, Chuck! I'll see you around, yeah?"

"Hopefully you're not here for him next time I see you," He told her with a small smile on his face.

Odette smiled back at him and walked out of the building, knowing that Diego would be coming out from a side exit very soon. From the corner of her eye, she noticed a guy in all black walking with his head down. She walked down the stairs and slowly followed him, keeping her distance.

She looked down at her feet and found a small rock to throw at him. When the rock hit him, he turned around to see who it was, but soon realizing he didn't have any knives.

"What are you doing here?" He asked her with one eyebrow raised.

"What, you don't have a knife to throw at me?" She questioned him, getting closer, knowing well enough that he had absolutely nothing on him.

Diego let out a sarcastic laugh, "You're so funny. Are you doing okay though?"

"Not really, I woke up and everything came back to me. Is the world really ending? Are we all gonna die? How can we stop it? Is this like some cosmic thing?" Odette rambled on and Diego put his hands on her shoulders.

"Odette, breathe. My siblings and I got this handled." He firmly told her and turned away to find a ride back home.

Odette ran her fingers through her hair, "You guys fight over everything and you're telling me that it's up to you guys to save the world? I don't think so!"

Diego looked back at her and walked backwards, "We got this! Go home!"

She cursed at him under her breath then flipped him off and walked back to her car. She slammed her door shut and left the parking lot, going to the closest coffee shop she could find to get some caffeine in her system.
