This is a gift for SkipPlayz525, who very kindly wrote me a SammyXNorman chapter in their own BatIM book that I love very, very much- thanks a lot! 💜

Susie was starting to love the flowers.

I mean- who wouldn't? A single stem of a different variety a day, some even grand and exotic, appearing on her desk anonymously every single day. Each sported a small note, with a single sentence that described one of her best qualities. She had a jug in her desk filled with the pretty things- they'd been coming for nearly two weeks now, and it would surely overflow soon if the rate continued.

She smiled dreamily as she stared at the vase and counted the flowers once more, reciting what had been written on each of the notes in her head.

   #1 - Daisy - Your smile.

   #2 - Hydrangea- Your confidence.

#3 - Rhododendron - Your flawless strut, like you're always on a catwalk.

   #4 - Forget-me-not - The sound of your laugh.

#5 - Petunia - The sound of your voice.

   #6 - Daffodil - Your bright attitude.

   #7 - Poppy - Your singing skills.

#8 - Violet - Your connection to Alice- it's like you two are sisters.

#9 - Tulip - Your perky observation skills.

#10 - Lily of the Valley - Your femininity.

   #11 - Begonia - Your pretty handwriting.

#12 - Cherry Blossoms - Your overwhelming beauty.

She took a deep breath and smiled at today's flower, reading from the card once more, and making a mental note in her head.

#13 - Poppy - Your happiness, like a ball of sunshine.

Whoever was sending her these, they were doing her a serious favour.

Where Susie'd grown up, people had always told her she was going to be a nobody. Her life was dreary, with no action. Nothing exciting ever happened. Nobody ever paid her attention, and what hurt the most was when they forgot about her entirely... which she saw as sort of impossible, since she viewed herself as a shining star rising above all the rest.

Nowadays, in the studio, her heart beats warmly and feels giddy even when someone invites her into a conversation or spots her in a corner. It makes her so happy when she's valued and accepted into the rest of the group. She just loves being in a place where she fits in.

Her train of though was abruptly interrupted, though, by the presence of someone close by- she glanced up, and lo-and-behold in front of her was the one and only Sammy Lawrence, trying valiantly to get her attention. He'd gone through every procedure he could think of- repeating her name, tapping her desk, snapping his fingers in front of her face- and had just been about to give up and leave when she did a double take, sprang up and stuttered out, "Ah- Mr. Lawrence! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there!" the poor girl started to rapidly apologise. "I've missed our recording session, haven't I, of course that's why you're here-"

"Susie, calm down, I just came to check up on you." Sammy cut her off, his gaze raking over her rather messy desk: scattered pages of voice acting lines; askew notebooks filled with small scribbles and writing entries; and, of course, the large vase of flowers taking up a large amount of the space. Susie could've sworn a tiny smile crossed his face after his eyes landed on them, but it was gone as soon as it appeared.

What Susie wasn't expecting to happen was him to freeze and blush a violent red, as if a thought had just crossed his mind. Connecting their eyes once again, he leaned his shoulder against the wall and started stuttering out what were barely full sentences. "W-well, not just that, actually. I, uh, I came here for a different- yeah, different reason."

Susie fixed him with a bemused stare and felt a light red dust her cheeks as well. He continued, "Well, we, uh, we've known each other quite a while, and I..."

He couldn't quite seem to get the words out. "I-I, uh-"

He swiftly darted a hand unto his pocket, producing a de-thorned, deep red rose with two cards tied to the stem. "J-Just take it, okay?" He mumbled, flinching slightly as his fingers brushed against her own as she gently took it from him. A small, shaking hand opened the first card.

   So, Susie,
I've liked you for a long freaking while now. Pretty sure longer than I should have without doing anything, but anyway-
I don't know if I'm going to be able to confess to you in person without going mad and stuttering all over the place, so this is just in case. I was wondering if we could go out to lunch today? Just the two of us? I mean, you don't have to say yes, just thought I'd put it out there. So, thanks for reading this, I guess.
...Please don't say yes out of pity.
xx
Sammy

She looked up at Sammy, eyes wide, who shakily held out a hand to her and turned away, his red blush turning an even deeper burgundy.

She smiled and made another, tiny mental note before taking his hand.

   #14 - Rose - How much I love you.

I think I just converted myself into a multishipper.

..............shit.

Anyway, I had to search up, like, NINE FLOWER TYPES to make this fanfic work- and figure out 13 great things about Susie, which shouldn't have been hard, but it still caused me a lot of grief.

So I hope you'rE FRICKIN HAPPY.

...this was really fun to write though lmao

*dabs and yeets out*
