"The last time I danced with death, I stepped on his toes."
Author POV

===========================
Summer walked into school and headed to her locker. As she turned the corner, she was shoved into the lockers, hitting them with a loud bang.

"What's wrong Summer? Winter not being too nice to you?"

"Where's your bodyguard, eh?"

"Yeah where's the lesbian that you rely on so much?"

The bullies repeated multiple questions about where Summer's friend, Paige is. They knocked summer's stuff out of her hands and ripped her ponytail out, laughing as they walked away.

Paige, finally finding Summer, ran over to her and helped her pick her stuff up. Paige quickly looked over Summer to make sure they did no real damage.

Paige's face turned from a 'worried mom' look to a 'straight faced poker game' look, her eyes half lidded and her lips pressed together into a thin line. Then turned around and started to walk away at a quick pace.

Summer raced after Paige, tripping every now and then.

"Paige you lunatic! Are you crazy?" Paige kept walking away, not caring what Summer had to say.

"Paige! You are dancing with death if you plan on hurting them!" Paige stopped and looked at Summer from over her shoulder.

Summer stood still a few feet behind Paige, locking eyes with her. After staring at each other, Paige turned her head back but not far enough for Summer to not see her lips.

"The last time I danced with death, I stepped on his toes." Paige walked away as Summer stood dead in her tracks, knowing she couldn't do anything.
