Chapter 5

I don´t know why I was nervous about meeting Jc.  I don´t think it was just about meeting him, it was the fact that he was a vampire. Yes, the little fact that made everything complicated. I knew I should care even more about it, and I did, when I wasn´t with him. Because when I was, I felt like he was just any other human. Someone I liked, a lot.

“Sky.” I turned around and saw Jc standing there. He looked tense.

“Is something wrong?” I asked feeling worried.

“I´m not sure, but someone may have followed me here.” He said and I stared at him.

“You´re not sure!?” I exclaimed and felt terrified.

“We should leave, now.” He said and turned around.

“You know we will get out of here faster if you just got up on my back now.” He said, and I was so scared I didn´t even care to say something back. And in a second, we were long gone in the forest.

It was really dark and I didn´t feel safe, even though I had my arms wrapped around him. Knowing someone may have seen us together made me feel more insecure about this than I had before. Suddenly, he stopped and stood still, then put me down on the ground.

“I think we may have to find a new meeting place.” He said and turned around, still having a frown on his face.

“Jc, is it even safe for us to meet anymore?” I really started to doubt this. He took my hand and I got so surprised by his touch that I took a step back and pulled away my hand. His has was cold, and I didn´t expect him to touch me.

“Sorry I didn´t mean to scare you.” He said, sounding guilty.

“No, I just got surprised that´s all.” I said, feeling stupid.

“Sky, don´t worry so much. I know how to sneak away around here. They will not catch us, but maybe we have to be a little more careful.” He explained, and calmed me down.

“Are you really willing to do that, just so you can meet me?” I asked.

“Have I not been clear? I like spending time with you, I like being around someone completely different. I like you.” He said and smiled, while stroking my cheek, not leaving my eyes with his gaze. I suddenly couldn´t move, I couldn´t take my eyes off of him. It literally felt like time stood still. I could feel my heart beating faster, and faster. None of us moved, until he chuckled.

“Your heart is beating fast.” He said, looking slightly more confident.

“Yes.” Was the only word coming out of my mouth. “Sorry for being so, weird.” I said while I stepped back and looked away. I couldn´t have him looking at me anymore, without me literally dying inside.

“And by the way your heart is racing I think you like me back, am I right?” He asked, suddenly standing inches away.

“Um, yes…” I mumbled, still taken by the fact that he was standing so close to me. This was all happening so fast, too fast.

“Good.” He said and went to sit down in the grass. I felt confused by his actions, but I sat down as well.

“I have an idea.” He said. “I want you to meet Cole.” He continued and I stared at him.

“Are you mental? No one can know about this!”

“Calm down Sky, he is one of the good ones.”

“I am sure he is, but we cannot trust anyone at this point. It is far too dangerous.”

“Oh Sky, you would not make a good vampire, you are far too safe and secure, not willing to take any chances.” He said, and I slightly felt insulted.

“Not when it comes to my own life, no, I am not. Cole seems great, but what happened if he tells anyone?” I asked him.

“He won´t. I promise you. I will make it my biggest mission to keep you alive.” He said and seemed genuine.

“Can´t we at least wait, just a little more?” I said hesitantly.

“We can, if that is what you really want, I will not pressure you.” He said and gave me a smile. He then stood up and I did the same. We walked around and explored the area, which I never have seen before. It reminded me much of the last place we met at, but it was darker, greener, more beautiful. Just like him. I found myself watching him, and sometimes he noticed which made me blush. It was so easy being around him, he made me feel comfortable with myself, I didn´t have to pretend to be someone, I could just relax and be myself.

“Do you think everything would be different if we both were vampires, or humans?” I asked him.

“I think so yes. Because that would mean that I would actually be able to asking you out on a date.” He asked, and his answer caught me off guard. He was so straight forward, a thing I was not used to.

“If we lived, let´s say a hundred years ago, I think we could walk down the streets, holding hands, and no one would care. If we did that now…” I couldn´t finish the sentence. I had actually seen what had happened to two people for doing that, and it was not something I wished upon neither myself nor Jc.

“Sky, why are you focusing on something completely impossible? Focus on the things that matter. I am saying I like you, trust me these feelings are not something I wished for, for a human, though I am not saying that I want them gone. It is complicated yes, we just have to get creative and make it possible for us.” He said and he made my heart flutter. I didn´t expect him to say all those things, I did not expect things to develop this fast, but when it´s right, it´s right. There is nothing you can do to change that. I knew that he soon would start to be more than just a friend.

“I-I like you as well, like you may have understood with my not so subtle heart.” I said and he chuckled.

“You are absolutely adorable, you little human with the uncontrollable feelings.” He said and came close to me again. My heart was beating faster, again.

“It may have gone just a few weeks, but it feels like I have known you longer than that Miss Sky.” He said and smiled once again.

“I feel the exact same way.” I said before I even understood what I actually said.

“So we are in this now, we can get to know each other even more, and discover if things will change between us.” He said. Was he actually talking about love? I knew I should not get ahead of this, but like I said, when it´s right, you know it.

“We are in this.” I said and we both smiled at each other. He bent forward, like he always did, and kissed me on the cheek, longer than usual. I wanted to throw my arms around him, but I was afraid he would take it the wrong way. We should take things slow, I had only known him a few weeks, there is a lot more for me to discover. A lot more than I could ever imagine.

Really sorry for being gone for a while. But there is a lot of things going on in my life right now, but I haven´t forgotten about my stories. I will try my best to update a lot mor often I promise! I hope you enjoyed this little chapter. Vote, comment?
