Chapter 14: Name: Carter, Ability: Bright Mind, Level: 4.1

Gah my head, what happened? I look around to see that I was outside, I begin to recollect my thoughts and tried to remember what happened. I was fighting Jacob and I was winning, but then it felt like my body was taken over by something and I went flying through the air and that's all I can remember. I slowly get back up and look around some students were out cold and injured. I looked at one of the students who was injured. They were covered in some ice. 

"Ice," I said to myself. "Was Gabriel here? He must have changed his mind, then that means we have some backup." 

While talking to myself I could hear a window breaking and two people yelling before they hit the ground. This sound was coming from the other side of the school. I rush over to check it out. Once I arrive to where the noise came from, the sight scared me. Charles and Alaska were injured and could barely move. I rush over towards them and help them up. 

"Charles! Alaska! What happened to you two?!" I said.

"I-It was Midnight," said Alaska. "She's against us."

Shit, the Ace is against us. We're going to need a god damn ml if we want to defeat the Ace. But the Ace is the strongest in the school, the only two who could rival the Ace were the King and Queen. But with both of them injured, there isn't any way we could defeat the Ace now. 

"Carter," said Charles. "Alaska and I are to injured to reach Amira and Collin in time, we need you to reach them before Midnight can do anything to hurt them." 

"Wha-What?! How could I possibly stop Midnight?! She's way stronger than me!"

"I'm not saying you should fight Midnight. I just want you to get everyone to safety." 

"I-I'll try." 

I leave Charles and Alaska and run inside. They fell from the second floor where the library was, that must be where everyone else is. I run up the stairs and through the hallway. I have to reach them and fast. The Libary was coming up and I get ready to fight. I enter the library only to find the bookshelves destroyed and see my friends hurt badly to where it looks like they could be dead. Miguel, Gabriel, Aurora, and Emma were all injured badly. Amira and Collin weren't even here as well as everyone who was against us. I look around to see everyone in a bloody mess, it wasn't until I could hear someone moving and grunting. Gabriel was still conscious and he was trying to get back up. 

"Gabriel! Don't move you're to injured!" I said running up to him.

"N-No, Collin and Amira are in danger, they ran towards the roof and have nowhere else to go. I have to help them." Gabriel said this with the sound of pain in his voice.

"Gabriel you can barely move what makes you think you can ju-GAH!" I'm hit from behind by a ball of energy. I end up flying into a wall and fell to the ground. I get back up as fast as I could and could see Jacob with David and three other students.

"I didn't think you would be back up so quickly, Midnight took care of you outside, but it looks like I have to finish you here." Said Jacob.

Damn it, I'm outnumbered here. I honestly don't know if I can win this with how injured I am, even if I can read their minds, my body is to bang up to where I won't be able to avoid all their attacks even when I know when they're going to attack.

"Well, Carter this is it for you. You chose the wrong side." Jacob got ready to attack until one of the students that were with him ended up screaming in pain. Everyone then turned their attention towards this student who was impaled by three shards of sharp ice. One going right through his right leg, another through his left shoulder, and the other going through his lower chest cavity. A pillar of ice then hit him and he went flying out the same window Alaska and Charles went through. 

"I'm done." Said a cold voice, the room began to get colder and colder ice began to form throughout the room and it almost feels like all my fear has been redirected to someone else. This fear was directed towards Gabriel who was barely standing up, blood dripping head to toe. His head was facing down I couldn't see his face.

"I'm done holding back. If I have to go through drastic measures to assure victory...SO BE IT!" Gabriel raised his hands quickly towards Jacob and David. Sharp shards of ice formed and headed straight toward them. They dodge, but the other two students were not so lucky. They got hit by these shards of ice, each shard hitting a different part of the body. Both of them screamed in pain and they couldn't move.

"I WILL SHOW NO MERCY!" Gabriel made a pillar of ice and launched it straight towards David, he wasn't fast enough to react. The pillar of ice hit David in the stomach launching him back and he hit the wall. That same pillar of ice then slammed into David crushing him against the wall. Gabriel snapped his fingers and the pillar shattered and the shards of ice that impaled the other students also shattered. Gabriel without even looking at Jacob launched a sharp shard of ice towards him, this shard of ice ended up hitting Jacob in his right shoulder. Jacob yelled out in pain, but this came to an end when a pillar of ice slammed down on Jacob. Jacob hit the floor hard and he was knocked out. Gabriel snapped his fingers again and the ice all shattered to pieces. Jacob, David, and the other three students were knocked out in a minute, it all happened so fast. 

"Gah, shit. That's all I had in me." Said Gabriel. 

Gabriel fell to his knees and then fell to the ground. I rush over towards Gabriel, once I got over to him he could barely speak.

"Ca-Carter, go h-help Amira and Collin. Get them to safety." Said Gabriel as he then drifted off and was out. Gabriel was not going to help anymore, he's too weak with his condition. I lay him down to rest. I can't do this alone. I need help. Think Carter think! Who could possibly help us? After pondering for a short bit. I became clear on who could help us. It was a stupid plan. But it could work. The only thing I got to hope for is if he will help us. Given the history between him and Amira, it's a stupid plan. But I got to try, I got to find Ben.
