My dearest Makenzie,

In my final moments of writing this I'm going to visit someone special in your life. I hope you find them quickly and link them to me but I doubt that will happen. You tend to have a one tract mind. I just want you to know that I was happy with you, while it lasted. Stealing your childhood wasn't the best part of my fatherhood. I also stole Sam's and Dean's.

They are my children. My lifeline. I would give anything to make sure they are still breathing. We were hunting Azazel and failed. We all took a pretty disturbing beating, especially Dean. On his death bed I made a choice. I would give my life to Azazel for Dean to live. Besides, he is much more important in this story.

Let's go back to the day you called me, Kenzie. You told me, 'my mommy has been sleeping for a couple days. I can't get her to wake up.' I knew your small little voice. I'd been keeping tract of you and trying to send hunters to clear that area. But that vamp got your mom babygirl. For that, I raised you. I helped you understand this world. I helped you move along in it and be one of the best damn hunters I've ever met.

Kenzie when I say this though, your perspective is going to change. You're going to get angry. You're going to want to scream and punch something. Just don't take it out on my boys. Sammy is soft and you freaking out is gonna scare him more then Dean. Dean is very protective for Sammy. Just don't go crazy Makenzie. But listen to me carefully. You look up to the shorter man. You look right into those green eyes and I want you to face the fact.

My son, Dean Winchester, is your father.

Dean had a small, stupid sleep session with your mother on a hunt when he was young. Your mother had my number but not his. Someone had to sign the birth certificate. I didn't want Dean to know Kenzie. He needed to focus on his story. But if you've found this, it's time for Dean to focus on something new. They are going to be in disbelief for a long time Kenzie. Just give them time. They've only know each other for the longest time.

Makenzie, I also want to say. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for distorting your thoughts and prayers. For all those times you were scared in your room at night because of the endless screaming downstairs. Kenzie I wanted the best for you. The best included knowing about this, knowing how to kill what can kill you. So you can live.

Just for instructions, take it slow with the news. They were instructed not to open this letter or I would hunt them down and kill them. Dean would never open it, Sam on the other hand. That's probably why Sam doesn't know about this letter. Good luck babygirl. Stick with your father and uncle. They will keep you safe.

John Winchester
