Ella sighed and sat down on her bed, the last box of her's had finally been unpacked. All she could hear was talking and thumping, there was no way she was sleeping with that noise so she just stood up and walked through to the living room.
"Ellie, if you're done unpacking you should just go outside or something there's far too much going on for a useless straggler." Her dad said, sitting a box on the kitchen table. She made her way out of the house and down the street to the football fields and play park. As soon as she sat down on the swings a little girl, about her age, maybe slightly younger, came and sat on the other one beside her, "who're you?" The girl said. "I've never seen you before."
"I moved here this morning." Ella said.
"What's your name? I'm Lily." The younger took a liking to the boy, if this was what a crush felt like, that's definitely what she had on him.
Ella hesitated answering.
"Are you shy?" Lily asked.
"No." Ella said.
"Then what's your name?"
"Joshua."
"Like Josh?" The younger asked.
"Yeah."
"I like that name! That's my brother's best friends name!" She was excited about her new found friend and couldn't wait to tell Tyler. "I'll go get him." She smiled, walking off to the group of about 10 kids sat next to the public toilets.
A few moments later Lily came back with a slightly taller boy who had a mohawk-like haircut.
"I'm Tyler." He was a lot shyer than his sister.
"Josh."
"I'll call you Joshua or your middle name if you have one, if that's alright. We have another friend called Josh, might get a bit confusing." He have a nervous laugh.
"Uh my middle name is James, but Joshua is fine."
"Do you wanna come sit with us?" Tyler asked.
"Sure."
The 3 of them walked over to the group where Tyler introduced the others, there was Josh, Ashley, Zack, Brendon, Jaime and Max.
"This is Joshua." Lily smiled before sitting down the other 2 sat down a few seconds after that.
"He's the new boy from the new houses in Mikhael Avenue." Tyler added.
"I'll beat you to the top of the climbing frame, Joshua!" Jaime yelled.
She ran up the to the top of the structure and got there a few seconds before Jaime.
"I win!" She smiled.
"Well I won this!" Jaime grabbed her shirt off of her, leaving her shirtless.
"Bitch! Someone get his!" She laughed.
"Who bet you now, Hime?" A new face laughed, he had blue eyes and bleached blonde hair, similar shorts to her and a white t-shirt instead of a black one.
"Joshua, not Josh. Him." He said to blonde boy, pointing at Ella sat at the top of the structure.
He climbed up to the top and sat next to the other boy.
"You're new I'm guessing?" He said.
"Yeah, I'm Joshua, what's your name?"
"Daniel. Dan." Dan smiled.
"I love your hair, your eyes are cool too."
"Thanks man."
"Joshua, Dan, do you wanna come swimming tomorrow?" Brendon yelled up.
"Sure." They both said in agreement.

The door shut behind her and she made her way to the kitchen and sat at the dinner table.
"Ella, you have to start dressing more like a girl." Her mum said, looking over at her daughter's red t-shirt,grey jersey shorts and short, shaggy hair.
"But I like it this way." She replied.
"You don't want to be mistaken for a boy, do you?" Her dad added.
"Probably does." Oli laughed.
"So have any of you met anyone yet?" Their dad asked.
"Yeah, dude called Matt." Oli said.
"A few people." Ella said. "I'm going swimming with them tomorrow."
"And they think you're a girl, right?" He said.
"I look like a girl, why would they think I was anything else?" She gave a nervous laugh.
"You look like a boy, you literally look like what I looked like at 12."

Oliver finished what he was eating and walked back through to his bedroom but before he could get there the doorbell rang, "I'll get it!" He shouted.
"Is Joshua in?" A little boy with bright purple hair asked.
"Who?"
"Joshua. He lives here, right?"
"I think you got the wrong house."
