Sitting in English class the next day I was alone. River hadn't shown up so I was working on the short project alone. I looked around the classroom and watched everyone else work, along with the teacher who was picking her nose. I grimaced and went back to work. Halfway through writing the bell rang and I gathered my things and went to lunch.
"I mean it wasn't even that big of a deal. It was her fault anyways" Rachel was currently sulking because she had gotten a detention for 'accidentally' tripping one of her classmates.
"Rachel you did it on purpose and you know it" she rolled her eyes and bit into a French fry
"Yeah whatever" we both laughed as the rest of the gang joined us. Kyle walked over and sat next to me while shoving a handful of fries in his mouth.
"Hey! French fry stealer!" He laughed and I glared. Addy and Simon walked over hand in hand and sat down while Adam kissed Rachel on the cheek and stole her milk.
"Babe get your own!" Rachel whined
"What's mine is yours and what yours is mine flower" I smirked at the stupid nickname as Rachel went red. All of a sudden the lunch room sent quiet. Addy Simon and Kyle looked behind me. I turned around to see River stroke in with Ethan and Brandon. River had a black eye and a fat lip. Ethan's nose was a little swollen. But Branden had nothing. They'd obviously been in a fight. What the hell..?
"Jace ran into them at the park last night." Adam stated
"Whose Jace?" I turned back around to listen to Adam. Kyle chimed in
"It was Rivers ex best friend but Cassie cheated on him with Jace" I frowned
"Cassie?" Addy pointed with her finger. I followed where she was pointed and looked at the stupid blonde that started a fight with me. I shook head
"Figures" I mumbled as the bell rang and we all headed our separate ways. As I was dumping my tray I looked over towards River and made eye contact. He smirked and I could feel my face get red.
After school I was walking to my truck when I noticed River leaning against it. My heart beat quickened when he noticed me.
"Can I help you?" I waited for an answer as I unlocked my truck
"The project" he stated.
"Yeah? The project you left me alone to do today. Thanks" I went to open my door and get in but he stopped me and closed my door
"I was busy. Sorry" I grumbled
"Fighting doesn't count" I glared at him
"When do you want to work on it?" He said while smirking. I thought for a moment
"I work tonight. So uhm.." I trailed off
"How late?" Why does he wanna know how late I work?
"What?" He sighed
"How late do you work? I'll come over after" oh, right
"Oh, uhm seven." With that he nodded and walked away. I watched him walk away. He has a nice ass. Those jeans hug him in all the right spots. I quickly realized what k was doing and snapped out of it. What just happened?
