Beautiful Tragedy

Chapter 14

We finally got to the event. We walked in to a beautiful fire and ice theme. There were icicles hanging from the ceiling and a fire pit at the middle of each table. The best part was the chandelier hanging in the shape of a heart that is half on fire and half frozen.

" May I have this dance?" Jack asked.

We walked directly under the chandelier, and we danced with my head on his shoulder. The way I felt at that moment is like nothing I have ever felt before. I felt like I finally found my "prince charming" . Yeah, I know, its not something I say, but I felt it.

" I love you so much jack."

" I love you too."

He leaned in and kissed me.

" Hey, I have a surprise for you. Come on"

I followed into a room . The lights surrounding us were perfect. He turned the projector on, it was a video of him.

"Hey Alex. When I first met you, I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be on that date with you. It was only planned to be the ice cream. The rest of it was me going off of the top of my head. I took you to see the diamonds because their beautiful, just like you. And I know you think having cancer makes a difference in my feelings for you, but it doesn't. It really doesn't. Cancer is a part of who you are and I love every single thing about you . your eyes, your lips, your touch. Everything about you makes my heart race. When i'm with you, I can tell you everything. When I'm with you, I don't care what anyone else thinks. Your all mine, and I dont know what I did to deserve you in my life."

I turned around and kissed him. I pushed him over to the couch. And I wrapped my legs over him. I began to kiss his neck, but he pulled me back.

"Are you sure you want to?"

"yes"

I began to kiss his neck again, I started to unbutton his suit. I pulled back remembering... I fell off of him and I ran to the corner and started to cry.

"Whats wrong."

"When I was fourteen...."

"yeah?"

"I was raped."

" what?"

I sniffled. "When I was fourteen...i...i...i can't talk about it"

"you don't have to talk about it, I will love you no matter what happens. I'll be here to listen whenever your ready to talk. "

"i'm sorry...i'm just not ready to talk about such a horrible thing."

"its fine. Im not asking you tell me. I just want you to know that I will always be here for you."

"i'm sorry, can you take me home?"

"i understand. Come on."

he wrapped his arm around me and we walked to his truck.

I fell asleep on the way home, dreaming of what couldve happened if I didnt freak out.

Jack knocked on the doorbefore waking me up. Connor had answered the door.

"Hey, Where's my sister?"

"She's in my truck asleep, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure."

"What happened to her?"

"What do you mean?"

"She told me she was raped."

"Oh. She told you about that?"

"Yeah. She kind of had a panic attack."

"Oh... I get it. Well, she was fourteen and was walking home from therapy. A big thug pushed her into an alley, and well you know the rest... she came home with tears in her eyes, and a ripped up shirt. She had bruises all over her face. Her pants were missing, and she could barely stand up to walk. When I asked what happened, she fainted in my arms. We rushed her to the hospital only to find out she was raped and beaten.They still haven't found out who did that to her, and I can see that she has grown a lot since then, but I think she just putting up a front. She's more damagd than others."

"That's horrible. How could someone do that to her?"

"I dont know. It just happens. And that is why I have been so overprotective of her."

"Yeah I get it. Well I think I should wake her up now."

"Yeah Yeah . Go ahead. Doors unlocked whenever shes ready to come in."

Jack walked back to the truck.

"Hey Alex?"

Groggily I said " Yeah?"

"Were at your house."

"Oh well, im so sorry about tonight. I loved your video. I wish I could get myself to do... with you, I guess im just a little traumatized."

"No, you don't have to explain yourself. I get why you couldn't. It doesnt matter to me whether we do or don't I'm just happy to have someone as amazing as you in my life. No matter what Happens. I will always be there to love and protect you."

I kissed him and got out the car.
