Chapter 17

My heart. It ached so much. I had never felt so much pain. He loved me. I loved him... I love him. How could he do this to me? What happened to us? What happened to our forever?

With every word so did the tears. I couldn't even get myself to shower. It was as if my life stopped. I sat there in the bed, dreading my feeling for wanting jack, hoping he would come and walk through that door.

*knock knock*

"Go away!" I sniffled.

"Cmon let me in.!" Connor said behind the door.

I got up with my hair in my face and opened the door.

"what?"

"Dinner is ready."

"I'm not hungry "

"Alex, you have to eat something. "

"No I don't. Besides I'm not hungry."

"Let's go."

"Ah why?" I walked back to my bed and I buried my face in my pillow.

Connor came over and threw me over his shoulder."

"Ahh no. Put me down. "

"We're eating first."

"Connor !"

He put me down.

" what is with you?"

"Jack broke up with me. He was the only one who I have ever loved. "

"I know. But you can't mope like this."

"It's been 3 days Connor. Give me a break."

"Fine just go get a fruit or something."

I walked back to my bed . I threw my headphones on playing the loudest music I could. I felt as though he ripped a whole out of my heart and threw it in the middle of the road.

I fell asleep.

(3:27 am) I gasped for air, Connor ran in.

"Sorry, it was a nightmare. "

"About?"

"Jack leaving me ."

"Scoot over, I'll lay with you."

*scoots over*

"Connor?"

"Yeah?"

" why would he leave me ?"

"Why don't you ask him yourself?"

"I'm afraid of the answer."

"It'll be okay sis."

"Why does love hurt so much?"

"I don't know...I just don't know."

I fell asleep finally but awoke to my name.

"ALEX!!!"

" yeah?"

"Someone's here for you."

I ran down stairs in hopes of jack. It was nonetheless David.

"What?" I said.

"Can I come in?"

"I guess."

We walked upstairs to my room.

"So what is it?" I said sadly.

" let's go hang out."

"I'm not really up for it David."

"Because jack broke up with me and I don't really feel like going out."

"I'm so sorry. I had no idea. Some here."

He wrapped me in his arms.

" David?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think I can be alone? I really don't feel it in my heart to be happy."

"Look at me."

I looked up at him.

"You are beautiful in every way possible. Nothing and no one will change that. Don't be sad. You deserve to be happy."

I kissed his cheek and walked him out. " thank you."

"Sure. " he walked away and smiled before he got into the car.

3 days later

"Come on Alex! We'll miss our flight." My mom shouted.

I looked around. Thinking. 'I guess this is it. He really doesn't want me '

"COMING!"

I walked down to the car. We drove to the airport but I didn't say a word.

Jacks pov

*knock*knock*

"What do you want man?" It was David's dumb ass.

"Bro, you can have her back."

"WHAT?!?!? WHY?!?!"

"She's too dam emotional for me. But I'd hurry. She's leaving back to California today."

I grabbed my keys and ran to my truck

"COME ON COME ON!" The door finally opened. I sped all the way to her house.

*knock knock.*

Peyton answered the door.

"Jack?"

"Where is she?"

"Who?"

"Alex!!!"

"She just left to the airport. "

"Damn! Alright I have to catch her before she leaves. "

I drove to the airport. The security was yelling for me to stop running but I didn't care. Where is she?

Over the speakers I hear. " last call for the boarding of flight 251 to Los Angeles. "

I ran as fast as I could to get to her. The lady Egan closing the gates.

"WAIT! THERE IS SOMEONE ON THERE I NEED TO TALK TO!!!"

"We're sorry sir. The gates are closed. No one is getting off or on that plane."

" FUCK!!" I began to feel a year roll down my cheek because I knew I'd never see her again.

I walked back to my car.

*ring ring*

"Hello?"

"Jack, come back to the house." Payton said.

"Okay..." I sniffled.

I drove over and knocked.

"Come on!!" She yelled.

I followed her to Alex's old room.

"I think she left this for you. I'll leave you here to read it."

I don't know why you broke up with me, but it's okay. I forgive you and I will love you forever. I hope one day we can meet again. You have made this summer one of the best summers in my life. I love you even if you have hurt me. I'll miss you.
