throughout that day jaemin learnt many things about lee jeno. one was that he was incredibly skilled at almost everything he did making the admiring onlookers swoon. another was that he was an incredibly talented dancer and instantly connected with the youngest of their friend group, jisung
he had recently moved to seoul with his older brother who owned the flower shop where jaemin had first met the boy. he didn't elaborate on why they moved, jaemin decided not to push for an answer sensing the discomfort when he was asked
jeno continued to flirt with jaemin as well as everything that walked. jaemin frowned at the thought of the gentle smiling boy from the previous day, where had he gone? but he brushed it off, whatever hopes he had where now diminished now seeing the increased want for jeno's attention by the entirety of the female population at their school
jaemin wondered why jeno stuck with his friend group, there were much more 'elite' groups he could have made friends with but he had stuck with jaemin's eccentric group for the day so he was now considered a part of it
everyone took an instant liking to him, it was hard not to with his award-winning smile and personality. though the youngest of the groups quickly jumped on his back about his humour, or rather the lack of it
and soon the end of the day approached. jaemin was trying to contain his laughter as he watched jeno painstakingly assemble his shattered sculpture back together. his tongue unconsciously poking of as he concentrated on repairing his work
and as soon as it had begun the day was over. the bell rang through the populated classrooms signalling the students that the weekend had arrived and they were free to leave
jaemin packed his work away and jeno defeatedly dropped his broken beyond repair sculpture in the bin. jaemin waited for jeno to finish, nervously swinging on his heels and playing with his backpack strap
once jeno was done the boys walked out of the classroom, saying their goodbyes to the teacher and strolling down the hallway. narrowly avoiding walking into some juniors catfight
"jeno oppa!" a shrill scream brought the pair's attention to a group of girls rushing towards them just as they were about to leave the schools premises. jaemin frowned at the girls excitedly battering their eyelashes and puffing their chests out
he huffed and stuck his hands in his pockets as jeno grinned and spoke with the eager girls, all of them reacting loudly to whatever joke he had told. jaemin stared at the bus that was leaving the stop
he sighed, guess he was walking again today. he shuddered at the thought of stumbling across the fat sweaty man again. a tap on his shoulder brought him back to reality. blinking in confusion he then saw jeno staring at him curiously
"aren't you going home jaemin?" he asked
jaemin smiled sheepishly "missed my bus again"
jeno laughed lightly and hit the boys shoulder, "walk with me then, you go past my brother's shop right?"
jaemin instantly brightened at the suggestion and nodded eagerly "that sounds good"
and so the boys started the journey home. jeno would crack a joke that would make jaemin scoff. now jaemin wasn't an extremely observant person, the boy stepped on chenle's cat once causing the younger to burst into tears as he witnessed what he called "an attempted murder"
but what jaemin did notice was how jeno's cocky facade that he had on at school slipped away, the smirks were replaced the heart fluttering eye smiles and cute tongue pokes
suddenly jaemin gasped and pressed his face against the glass window of a shop they were passing. jeno cocked his head wondering what caused such a reaction from the boy and joined him by his side where jaemin was making literal heart eyes at a huge plushie
"ryan" jaemin whispered in a daze. he stood up straight scaring jeno who hadn't expected the sudden movement and watched jaemin as he marched into the store and directly to the oversized plushie
jeno shook his head in disbelief and followed the boy inside
"i'm in love"
