"how can you be in love with a plushie?"
jaemin whipped around to glare at jeno, "are you doubting the extent of my love for ryan? how dare you" he gasped dramatically, clutching onto his shirt in mock horror
jeno shook his head in disbelief at the boy's actions. "what caught your eye?"
jaemin pointed to the huge plushie, a childish grin making its way onto his face but quickly falling, "i'm an avid ryan collector, not some child" he said defensively
jeno just smiled at him and wandered around the store looking at the various items, passing the bored cashier scrolling through her phone. jaemin grabbed the plushie and joined jeno in exploring the store. he was pleasantly surprised to find that the store had multiple floors filled to the brim with various plushies and cute items
jaemin cooed at everything that caught his eye and gazed longingly at all the items he wanted much to jeno's amusement. once they decided that they had had enough of taking silly pictures with the items they made their way to the checkout where jaemin excitedly paid for his plushie
he clutched onto it victoriously with a content expression
"sixty bucks for a plushie?" jeno pressed, amazed out how someone would spend money on such an unnecessary item. jaemin simply nodded and pushed the door open to step outside, mouth dropping as he saw the blinking stars and the streetlights flicker on
"how long were we in there for?!" he gasped
jeno checked his phone. his eye's widening at the time shit it's eight already" he exclaimed
jaemin froze then hastily rummaged around in his pockets, then his bag, groaning in defeat
"what's wrong?" jeno asked
jaemin slumped against the wall "i left my house keys at home and my mother is out on a business trip until tomorrow evening"
jaemin cursed at himself for being so careless, he wouldnt be able to get back into his house knowing well that his mother made sure to lock it before she left
"what are you going to do?" jeno asked
jaemin pulled out his phone and called donghyuck, sighing when he was only met with his cheery voicemail
"i don't know" jaemin replied, cuddling the large plushie and resting his head on it
"you could stay the night with me?" jeno suggested
jaemin looked to meet jeno's eyes "really?" surprised at his offer. it wasn't often he spent the night at a relatively new friends house, donghyuck being the exception when he dragged jaemin home after the first day of school. declaring him his "bestest bud forever and everest" to his bewildered mother
"sure. my brother won't mind" jeno shrugged
jaemin nodded slowly and smiled eagerly. shooting up with newfound energy "ok"
so jaemin and jeno made their way to the flower shop. conversing happily under the night sky and bright billboards that illuminated the cityscape
