A dark-haired figure read the report with a conflicted gaze. To his side, stood an equally conflicted woman, leaning against his desk while staring at the wall thoughtfully.

The messenger stood in front of them, nervous and completely still.

The Hunter's Guild was a guild that was recognized by the King's Court, making it official and under watch by the King's men. The thing was, not everything about the Hunter's Guild was made public. Some secrets lay under wraps, forever hidden from the king himself.

Each Hunter's Guild has a leader, who oversees the quests and missions given to each rank. The leader of a Hunter's Guild is not only powerful in terms of physical strength but also highly influential. Going against one is a death sentence, as all cities have Hunter's Guilds. Their influential power is equal to that of an army's commander.

The leaders of each Hunter's Guild serve under the command of the Guild Master, and him only. If the Guild Master were to command them to go against the King himself the leaders would do so without a doubt in their hearts.

Leaders of Hunter's Guilds were naturally discreet, with only a few leaders revealing their identity as one.

The messenger, who had come from the Head Guard of the city himself, had been told of who the Loomlight City Hunter's Guild Leader was, and he sat in front of the messenger as of now.

The Leader of Loomlight City's Hunter's Guild was Tsukuba Kurokiba, a dark-haired fellow who preferred to act as an instructor instead of Leader. The young woman by his side was Violet Lee, right-hand woman of the Leader herself, who was specifically ordered to act as a desk attendant.

Their Leader, who acted like a carefree instructor most of the time, was in truth one of the most intimidating Leaders of the Hunter's Guild Association.

His sword-shaped eyebrows were furrowed, raising his dark, striking eyes to stare at the messenger, who felt a chill run down his spine.

The messenger did not dare utter a word and respectfully continued to bow before the Leader, actually fearing for his life as Kurokiba stared a hole into him.

"Leave."

The single word made the messenger leave with haste, shutting the door as gently as possible while escaping as swiftly as possible.

Once the door shut the room fell into silence again.

"How could it have been a simple farmer?" thought Violet Lee aloud, twirling her greyish-green hair with one of her slender fingers.

"The report states he was most likely controlled by an object of some sort," replied Tsukuba Kurokiba gruffly, "but there weren't any objects found on his body nor in his clothes."

"It can't have been Mind Magic either." said Violet, "No signs of damage to his brain nor any side effects once he woke up. I've never heard of Mind Magics that didn't leave traces once finished."

The room fell silent again.

"Could she have stolen it?"

Tsukuba broke out of his reverie at her words. He lifted his head to lock gazes with Violet, whose light purple eyes were serious.

"I would have sensed her."

Violet raised an eyebrow.

"Did you sense her when she slew that beast?"

Tsukuba furrowed his eyebrows. He turned his darkening gaze to the report on his desk, irritated he could not have sensed the movements of an 11-year old brat.
