Chapter Eight

Lizzy's P.O.V

I need to tell Forest how I feel. If Hadley was able to tell Florence I should be able to tell Forest, right? "Forest, can I talk to you?" I whisper as I blush.

"Sure," he replies, "I'll be right back, Jacob."

"Okay talk to you in a bit, man," Jacob replies walking away.

"So what do you want to talk about, Liz?" he asks with a smile. I could get trapped in his smile forever. That beautiful perfect smile. The smile that could make the rain go away. "Lizzy, are you okay?" he says pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah," I whisper. How am I going to say it? Do I even have the courage to do it? Will I regret doing it? "Forest, I think I like you."

His face turns bright pink. His smile turns into a frown. His eyes look like they are full of hurt. I don't understand why though. "Lizzy, I can't do this," he whispers kissing me and then running.

"FOREST!!!!!" I yell falling to the ground crying.

Jacin's P.O.V

"Forest, I think I have feelings for Lizzy," I whisper.

"This might turn out bad," I mumble. "Jacin, when did you realize this and when do you plan on admitting it to her."

"I don't know," I reply scratching my head, "I think I might do it soon."

          Two Hours Later

Lizzy asks to talk to Forest. I don't know what about though. I was planning on finally admitting my feelings to her but now I don't think I can do it. Man, I wish I could but I don't think I can. "Why do you look so down?" Hadley asks walking up to me.

"I don't know," I mutter, "I just do."

"Spill it," she insists.

I tell her everything that I told Forest. She sits there and doesn't say anything. She just sits there and listens. "I don't know what to do," I whisper.

"Well you just gotta tell her," she replies, "it will feel like a weight has been lifted off your chest. If you do it I can bet you'll feel better. It is scary to do I can tell you that. But you'll feel better if you do."

"Thanks for the advice, Hadley," I say. That's when I see Forest walking away from Lizzy. Lizzy falls to the ground and starts to cry. "I'll be right back," I say as I run towards Lizzy. "Here goes nothing."

"Go away," she yells at me.

"I'm not going away," I whisper, "I want to tell you something."

"What is it and make it snappy?"

"Lizzy, I think I'm in love with you." When I say it she just cries harder. "Lizzy, please don't cry."

"GO AWAY!!! I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT LOVE!!! If you want to help send Hadley over."

"Ummm, okay."

I walk away and go get Hadley. I really don't know what to do if a girl is crying. I really just don't like dealing with crying in general.

Luke's P.O.V

"You're not here to kill my sister are you?" I ask.

"No," CaDence whispers, "I didn't have a choice. It was that or be killed."

"I don't understand. Why would they want to kill you if you didn't threaten Hadley?"

"They need the Jewel to keep Gerdad alive. They were going to use the Jewel and Hadley. So if I didn't I would've been killed me in front of my brother's eyes. My life would end."

"I don't really blame you. I kinda tried to kill her multiple times."

"Why?"

Of course, she asks that question. Why did she have to ask that question? I really didn't want to explain my past with Gerdad, but I guess I have to if I want to be able to trust her. "I was apart of Gerdad's Tribe. I was his next in command until I ran and freed Hadley. Gerdad has been trying to get Hadley and the Jewel to control the planet. Kill who he wants to kill. Do what he wants to do. To whoever he wishes. He wanted full control."

"Seriously."

"Yeah."

I grab her and hug her. I don't know why but I just do. I just need to do something to feel better and hugging her feels like the right thing to do. "I think I am in love with you," she whispers hugging me back.

Kayla's P.O.V

"Kayla, you go and get your kids and set up your camp a few miles down the river," Evony demands.

"Okay," I mumble walking. When I get to the group they all look like they're ready to get out of here. "Are you guys ready to destroy the planet," I laugh smiling walking down the river.

Time to go, rogue, I think to myself, destroy the planet, destroy the Chosen, destroy the Chosen's Castle, and kill everyone and everything on it. Even if it kills me in the processes. I was sent here to do it and I will complete the mission.

Evony's P.O.V

When Kayla left I knew something was up. She normally isn't as happy as she is right now. She is literally smiling and skipping away. She told something to her group but I didn't catch what it was. I know that David heard her though because he had a stern but fearful look on his face. He runs over to me. "Evony, I think you should be concerned with the group that Kayla chose," David pants, "She just asked them if they are ready to destroy the planet. I think she and her group are going rogue."

"Nonsense," I lie, "there's no way that Kayla would try to destroy the planet. Plus there is no way to destroy it."

I know that I'm lying to him but if he knew that the planet was already on the verge of being destroyed then he would freak. Now knowing that Kayla plans to make sure it is destroyed I need to be more careful than ever. I can't let Kayla go through with this. I need to warn Hadley and them. If they don't know what's coming then they might not be able to survive it. Hadley is the Chosen and there is only one way to kill her and that is with a mixture of sharkweed and snaketooth venom. I can almost bet that Kayla has both with the band of trouble makers I just gave her to watch. I guess if Hadley dies then it falls on me. It would be all my fault for letting Kayla lead a part of the tribe. Especially me giving her all the trouble makers just made it worst. Hadley's life is on the line because of me.
