Chapter 3

*COLBY’S POV*

I barely slept at all last night, I kept thinking about Y/N and how much telling her the truth is gonna hurt the both of us, how will this affect us, and will there still be an us? I paced around my room thinking about how to tell her and wondering if I should wake her up. Right before I decided I was going to wake her up I hear her getting to into the shower, it kinda eased my nerves knowing at least I wouldn’t have to wake her up. Y/N is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen and I love her with all of my heart, I need to tell her but I just don’t want to hurt her even more.

*END COLBY’S POV*

Feeling the hot water pelt down on you felt so good it made you feel like you would be able to get through the day ahead of you. Eventually you stood in the shower so long that the water started turning cold so you immediately got out of the shower and got dressed. Your outfit consisted of comfy workout leggings and a hoodie, you left your hair as it was and your face well it’s your face and there's just no hope and make up wasn’t worth the effort. After you get dressed you realized the time to hear and learn the truth is approaching fast, your anxiety levels are rising. As you begin mentally preparing yourself and pacing around the room you hear a knock on the door and just by the type of knock you know it’s Colby..

*COLBY’S POV*

About 30 minutes after I hear Y/N get out of the shower I gather up all my will and courage to go knock on her door. I know I won’t be able to fully feel how hurt she is, no one will be able to know about the amount of pain she is about to feel emotionally. As much as it will hurt her, it will probably hurt me more knowing I cheated on her and that I am going to be the one who breaks her heart even more than it already is. I knock on her door, I hear her stop whatever she was doing and let out sigh as she walks towards the door.

*END COLBY’S POV*

As I open the door I let out a sigh, it’s time..

Colby: Y/N can we talk?

Y/N: Yah, we need to..

Colby walks through the doorway and you sit on your bed while he sits on the chest at the end of your bed with his back to you. The emotional pain is about to begin.

Y/N: Why did you do it?

Colby: Honestly?

Y/N: Colby, I want to know everything! I want to know why I wasn’t enough for you? Why don’t you love me enough to no cheat?!

Colby: She was there and I needed someone.. You were already in bed and I didn’t want to disturb you and you had been acting off for the past few days.

Y/N: So you didn’t wake me up because I had been off for a couple of days?? And you thought it was better to just cheat on me??

The tears in your eyes were building up but the anger inside of you wouldn’t let them out, half of you wanted to hurt him just as much as he was hurting you but the other half was dying from the pain.

Colby: I know it was stupid of me and I regret every bit of it, Y/N I love you and only you! I wish I could change what I did and I know I can’t and saying won’t cut it, you deserve more than that, I am willing to do whatever it takes for you to forgive me…

Even though you couldn’t see Colby you could tell he was crying, it was painful to know he was crying, you wanted to comfort him but he’s not the one who was cheated on, it’s his fault not yours.

Y/N: I don’t know if I can forgive you.. You cheated on me because I had been off for a few days, did you ever think that I was off because you had barely been around, you were constantly busy with whatever keeps you couped up in your office all damn day!

Colby: I know I haven’t been around but I promise you that I was doing it to protect you.

Y/N: Sure.. Protect me kinda like how you kidnapped me!You tricked me into believing that you actually cared about me.

Colby: I swear Y/N it’s nothing like that now, I love you with all my heart, I love you more than I have loved anyone or anything in my entire life, please know that.

You say nothing and Colby stands up getting ready to leave, but before he leaves you ask one final question..

Y/N: Before you leave tell me one thing.. Why was she even here?

Colby: My boss sent her to let me in on the new problems arising with Jake..

Hearing his name again sent you over the edge and you couldn’t hold the tears back anymore, flashbacks of what he did swirled through your head.

Colby: I’m sorry Y/N, I promise im trying to fix them without you getting mixed into it, I love you.. I never meant to hurt you.

Colby left and you collapsed off the bed and onto the floor with tears pouring out of you. Never did you think that you would ever have to hear his name again, nothing could have prepared you for that, at this point you didn’t know what hurt worse, the fact that Colby cheated on you or the fact that Jake is becoming a problem again. You just layed there crying on the floor until Aaron came in to check on you, he picked you and placed you onto your bed then covered you up, after that he left and came back with a glass of water.

Aaron: If you need anything at all Y/N just tell me and I will do my best, it will get better I promise.

Y/N: Thanks Aaron, I just wanna lay here for a while though.

Aaron: Okay, good night Y/N.

Y/N: Good night.
