13: The Aftermath II

The ship is seen landing infront of the Avenger's compound. Pepper had talked to Banner about Tony's condition which needed resting and recovery from the events he was in.

"I'm really sorry".Pepper uttered as Steve and Banner looked at her."It's alright.. i just... it turns out, it's me to blame".Steve said as Pepper gave her a warmful hug, patting his back."No..you did what you have to do Steve, don't blame yourself".she pulled away as Steve stared at her with a concern face."Tony wanted us to move in a house far from here.. its simple.. as he wanted.. new life.. simpler one".she said as Steve smiles, patting her shoulder."I..i don't blame him".Banner looked at him with worry as Steve smiled."He deserves it.. a second chance..a life.. a family".Pepper smiled, patting his shoulder as sadness is seen evident on Steve's face.

"It turns out, he destroyed the stones".

Banner sat down in a black chair as the remaining avengers sat down in the settee."That's why he revived his minions".Rhodes said as Natasha looked at them."He knew we'll be finding him anytime soon so he ambushed us.. used that time to destroy the stones completely".she said as Rocket and Nebula stared with hopelessness plastered in their face as Carol looks at Steve."So.. what now? It turns out, the stones are destroyed.. Thanos is dead and so is his followers.. how can we save everyone back?".she asked as Rhodes looked down as Banner walks away a bit. Steve closed his eyes, heads down for the first time.

"I don't know..".

Carol gulped a bit."You what?".she asked as Steve opened his eyes as he inhales sharply."I don't know.. with the stones gone.. Thanos gone.. i.. i just.. don't know".Natasha stared in worry knowing Steve is painfully hurt at the thought of failing them as Carol looked around."Where's Thor? Does anyone seen him?".she asked as Banner frowns slightly."I.. i don't know, he left after he decapitated Thanos".Rhodes looked away as Carol gulped in worry and slight disappointment. Thor left without even telling where he is.

They sat there silently, not knowing what to say for the first time in days as Rocket looked at them."I-If..if that's the outcome.. i guess we should move on".he said as this attracted Steve's attention. Rhodes stands up as he left the room. Nebula stared at them."It isn't easy, what happened.. to what people are experiencing now.. we had a chance.. a solution.. but we're too late".Steve said as everyone went silent again. Natasha clears her throat, hiding the little tears she wanted to shed.

After the moments of silence and wasted minutes and time, Natasha, with Rocket and Nebula walked their way to the ship as Rocket held Natasha's hand."So...you'll be going? So soon?".she said as Rocket smirks a bit."Well, as the glowing lady said, there are planets out there who needs us.. though incomplete and sad about what happened".he said as they stopped their tracks. Natasha inhales sharply."I know.. the turn of events is.. hopeless".she almost teared up as Nebula patted her shoulder."We..we felt that too, Nat".she spoke for the first time as Rocket glances away."I know i never helped that much..".Nat rolled her eyes playfuy as she patted her shoulder."No..you gave us hope.. though not as we expected it.. we're thankful.. if it wasn't for you.. we couldn't find him".she smiled as Rocket looks at het.

"I'm really sorry, Natasha...i just can't help but bear the thought of nothing else getting them back.. i..".Rocket looks down as Nebula patted the crying raccoon's forehead. Natasha smiled as she could."I know... its hard, gosh i only met you two a day ago or whatsoever.. i'll miss you".she gave Nebula a soft hug and so is Rocket as Rhodes walked towards them.

"H-Hey! Wow.. i..".Rhodes said as Nebula raised her eyebrow."You're leaving..".he glanced down at Rocket who rolled his eyes with a smirk."Yeah chocolate, i am..".he said as Rhodes grinned, leaning in a brofist to him."You'll keep in touch?".he asked as Nebula stared at him."Yeah, we will".she lean ber hand to give him some kind of a transmitter. Rhodes accepted it with a smile as Natasha smiled as well.
