two weeks later-
I woke up with the room spinning and my head pounding
"mom!" I tried to call out but it felt as if I was swallowing thumb tacks "ugh." I coughed
I picked up my phone and texted Gerard
New Message
To: Gerard (Dad :))
can you or mom come here? I think I'm sick.
my phone pinged:
New Message
From: Gerard (Dad :))
Yeah, I'll be there in a sec.
I groaned and set my phone down on the night stand next to me
I started coughing violently which made the room spin and my vision go dark for a second
a sudden chill swept over me and I cocooned myself in my blankets
"Hey honey." Gerard walked in smiling
his smile alone made me feel better
I opened my mouth to speak but instead a cough came out
"I brought the thermometer." he sighed and sat on my bed
I opened my mouth and looked at him pathetically
he laughed and rolled his eyes then put the thermometer under my tongue, "don't do anything until it beeps."
I nodded
about a minute or so later it beeped, "99.3. hmm.. we better keep an eye on you. what're your symptoms?"
I picked up my phone and typed out
sore throat
coughing
chills
headache
stomach ache
he read then sighed, "sounds like you need some good ole chicken soup." he smiled, "it's just me and you today. do you feel like coming out to the living room? we'll watch something together."
I nodded and began to stand up but then started violently shivering
"here." he grabbed my favorite blanket and wrapped it around me, "are you dizzy?"
I nodded
"okay, I'll help you out." he wrapped an arm around my back and placed a hand on my stomach and lead me to the living room
"what do you wanna watch?" he helped me sit down
I shrugged and shuffled around trying to get comfortable
"how about... School Of Rock?"
I nodded and smiled
"great!" he smiled and popped the DVD in, "I'll get you some toilet paper and a trash can in case of immediate stomach fluid evacuation."
I giggled causing me to cough
he went to the kitchen and opened up a can of chicken noodle soup and poured it then water into a pan on the stove
the clicking sound of the burner firing up comforted me for some reason.
"okay, soups on, I'll get you that trash can and toilet paper."
I nodded and started shuffling to get comfortable again
my phone pinged
