"Do you like it?" Sean said as he slowly moved his hands from Kaycee's eyes as she let out a gasp and a laughter—"you're kidding, I love it!" She squeaked, reaching for his arms as she hugged him tightly.
"I have been waiting for so long to come here. Thank you, shampoo." She pecked his cheek with a kiss, making Sean blushes.
Sean has been planning this whole small surprise for at least this past few weeks— it was very hard finding a time where both of them are free (and are near each other), their schedule has been making it hard for them to spend some quality time. So the moment they had it, he decided to do something special for her.
"So, are you in?" She asked, screaming happily. Her face is clearly showing excitement as she pulled Sean on her lead—they entered the carnival, light bulbs irradiating the streets, bunch of people walking from different direction, some kids running around and laughing.
This is basically Kaycee's happy place.
"I'm in! Bet I'm going to win in all the games!" He scoffed as he run to the closest stand, giving a few bucks to the guy in a uniform. Kaycee followed his steps, he handed her a water gun, a huge smile appears on his face.
"What if I win?" He asked, nudging her small body with his as he raises both of his brows. Kaycee let out a giggle—"I'll buy you ice cream." She said as she clears her throat, "But if you lose, you're gonna treat me for dinner." She continued, gripping her water gun which Sean followed.
As soon as the bell rang and the timer starts—they have been shooting aimlessly to as many rubber ducks moving in a trail like machine. Trying their best to win against each other.
"You're cheating! You are taller than me, you can see things better from up there!" She screamed in between the game, Sean is so focused that he didn't even bother to response.
The bell rang again, meaning that their time is up. Their scores are displayed on the wall of the stand— 10 to 12, of course Sean won.
"Loser!" He mocked as he squirted water to Kaycee's face, making her startled, she immediately blocked the water with her hands, letting out a laughter. After Sean is satisfied, he stopped and returned their water guns back to the employee as he approached the hazel eyed girl dressed in a light washed denim shorts, a tube top matching her red sneakers.
He hold her chin with his fingers as he wiped the water away from her face. "Sorry but that was fun." He laughed. "May I have my ice cream now?" He shrugged, throwing his dimple smile at her.
"Too poor to afford your own ice cream, okay." She mumbled, walking past him. Kaycee has this thing that 'if I lose a bet, I'll be mad" kind of attitude—but for Sean, it's cute.
They walked to the nearest ice cream store, but before they got in, Kaycee stopped. Sean is still walking behind her—an inch away, furrowing his eyebrows when he sees her. "Babe,it's just a step awa-" His jaw drops when he sees Kaycee getting onto her knees—comforting a little boy who is crying in front of the ice cream store.
"Hey buddy, why are you here alone?" She asked as she gently rubs the little guy back—trying to comfort him, Sean immediately rushes to them as he squat down, putting both of his hands on top of his thighs. "Where are your parents?" He asked in a small voice, afraid the toddler is going to cry even more hearing that question.
But the little boy in the green shirt only shrugged as he continues to cry—"I lost them on the way to buy some ice cream." He said, rubbing his tears away as he showed a few dollars he has been holding since just now.
