I was feeling soft in the middle of my 20 hours road trip sksk

Kaycee sits on the couch as her fingers are tapping her thigh anxiously, she had prepared two mugs of warm cocoa but he is nowhere to be found.

"He'll come home soon." She mumbles as she takes a sip of the cocoa, hiding her figure with the thick blanket.

She slaps her face and let out a huge sigh, it's late and she's sleepy. But she misses him too much to fall back asleep, it felt like they haven't met for decades.

Sean has been busy going all around the world, teaching classes and workshops, basically living his dream. She's very happy for him and has been supporting Sean since day one.

But with all their busy schedules and being separated miles away, it's been a rough path for their relationship. It gets hard communicating, which makes the whole distance thing even more visible.

She trusts him, she really do. But sometimes she wonders about all the things that other places can offer him that she can't, she always feels insecure that perhaps she never really made it through his priority at the very first place.

Her phone rings, forcing the petite woman to move and take the device—on the screen, his name is clearly displayed. She knows it's either a good news or a bad one. Kaycee takes a deep breathe before she answers the call, "hey, babe."

"Kayc, it's me. I think you should just sleep now, my flight is delayed for an hour. When I arrive I'll stay at Ken's place, it's closer to the airport."

His statement made her frowns, "why don't you just go home, I really miss you." She asks, scratching her back.

"I'm tired. I'll see you tomorrow, night."

A laugh escapes her mouth, it sounds so miserable that anyone who heard her can sense the disappointment in her voice, "okay. Good night Sean." she mutters as she hung up.

She lays her body to the couch as she pulls her hair harshly out of frustration. She feels dumb waiting for him.

Kaycee knows that it's not his fault the flight got delayed, but her mind feels like it has exploded—there are non existent grey clouds and thunders on top of her head.

He can't control the weather, but he can control the choices he made. And he decided to leave her alone today in this empty and huge house and this is not the first time too,

cool.

She is mad of herself—thinking that she would be able to see his face today and spends some time together. If she knows this will happen, she will for sure not put her hopes high.

Lazily, she walks her way upstairs and to their closet, she takes a sweater and sweatpants that belongs to him and puts it on.

She's homesick, but her home apparently does not welcome her like he used to.

Nothing can replaces the way Sean wraps his arms around her waist, which he normally does when he just got home from a long flight. But today he's apparently absent so she has to find his replacement, and the only thing similar to his warmth is his clothes.

Kaycee shifts her body, ready to throw herself to bed but then she notices how big the king size bed is for herself. She let out a groan, there is no way she is going to sleep on it.

She hates the feeling of sleeping alone, the cold sensation tingling her body, the absence of her love.

Her heart is taken but somehow she's not familiar to the feeling of belonging—all she knows about is how much loneliness consumes her each day.
