On June 17th, 2018, Zahra boarded the plane leaving from LA to Philadelphia. She wanted to get as far as she could. She was escaping a terrible situation where her brother was tied up in local Bloods and Crypts drama when her life was threatened. She decided it'd be best to go to the other side of the country. She has a sister who lives in Philadelphia, unfortunately, she can't live with her because she's married and lives in a house full of kids so there's no room for her. Luckily, she was able to find an apartment close by to her. The landlord was a guy her sister was sleeping with for a while. She "pulled some strings" to get her the apartment.
As Zahra left out the airport in Philadelphia, she got in her Lyft and headed towards Washington Square West where the apartment is. It's right next to Center City and also referred to as the 'Gayborhood'. She calls her sister as she's getting out of the Lyft in front of her apartment.
"Heyyy, what's up?" Her sister answers cheerfully.
"You sound like you got some dick today." Zahra observes.
"This morning! Me and Corbin got it in before the kids woke up."
"Mom life? Ugh, I can't wait until I find the right partner to adopt a kid with."
"Well, you're in the right neighborhood for that. Plenty of lesbians around there."
"Yeah, but, I don't know anybody around here. It looks different around here than where I'm from. Wait, where's the key, Z?"
"I hid it in the soil in the flowerpot to the right. It's usually hidden and I figured no one would dig their fingers in dirt they can't see."
"So you make your sister do it. Very clever." Zahra commented sarcastically. She got the key and opened the door.
"We gotta have a house party!"
"Bringing the kids?"
"No, I want this to be an adult thing. Corbin can watch the kids and I'll invite my friends to come over so you can meet them and we get drinks and dance."
"You're gonna invite your friends to my house?"
"Yeah. So you can know some people here, at least."
"I don't know them girls you be hanging out with."
"I'm not introducing you to my white friends, you not ready for them. I'm talking about my hoe friends. They always go out and bring guys home. Sometimes girls."
"What kind of hoe friends? Are they hoe hoes or loud hoes?"
"Not loud at all. They just my girls from high school. We still hang out like those times and go to the club, go to lounges, and hookah bars and stuff."
"Are you referring to your black friends as hoe friends but call your white friends 'white friends'?
"Cause they some hoes!" Zuri laughed. "My white friends low key vanilla. We usually go out because it's an office bonding trip or something."
"I could use some white friends, I'm over the hookah life. Invite them."
"Okay," Zuri giggled. "Well, I'll find a date." Zahra opened the apartment door and was underwhelmed with what she saw.
"Not that I'm picky or anything, but this place is basic." She stated. She walks around the living room and places her stuff on the couch. "I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not small or dirty or anything. Nothing pops. There's no color. Everything is like, bleh."
"Be grateful! I had to literally bend over backwards for you to get that place rent-free for two months."
"I'm sorry, sister. Thank you for having 'two months rent free' pussy." She said begrudgingly. "I know how I can spice this apartment up. We gotta make a trip to the mall, ASAP!"
