After that intense conversation, Marco shortly guides me; he’s kind of desperate in interrupting the conversation just now. He looks at me angrily.
“My father cannot afford to be angry at all times. I fear he is in danger of having a cardiac arrest. Please bear with me.” He says.
Marco leads me into a room, just next into a room that looks just like an armory. You can see lots of weapons inside, weapons that do not even exist in the Philippines. These weapons must be illegally smuggled, or maybe the LPM has contacts with other organization that produces these weapons and places it to them secretly. However, in a simple sense, it is still illegal.
“If you want, we can provide you with weapons.” Marco suggests.
“No I’m fine.” I reply.
It is not that I don’t want to have a stronger gun, but I had no proper training for the usage of those so I guess I’ll just stick with caliber 45 pistol. I will have no problem wielding two because I was taught to use it in either left or right hand.
“Where is Ria?” I ask him.
He takes out a sort of canned food. He uses a can opener and eat the food inside. I still look at him, wondering if he heard my question. I prepare to say it again but he interrupts me.
“She is at home. You don’t have to worry.” Marco says.
In that very moment, I don’t know if worrying about her is the right thing to do. I am still unable to tell them of what might happen to Ria tomorrow, about the plan of the PSS to terminate her.
“Isn’t she wondering off all events that are happening to her?” I ask again.
He has this very sad look on his face though he is not really looking at me. He guides me into an elevator and presses the button which brings the elevator in the roof. The hideout has this tall building above, and now we are in the roof, below the wide dark universe. Stars are everywhere, this feeling is nostalgic.
He stares into the star, and then starts to speak.
“I bet she is very scared right now. She witnessed to much pain, in her past. I can’t believe our father. He is not caring at all, even if he is keeping it a secret to them.” Marco says, tears fall from his cheeks.
I can’t bring up anything to say. I am not good at something like this. I can’t comfort anyone, especially me, a PSS member who knows nothing about emotion and how it really works. Maybe tonight is the time, to say that there will be another threat on her life.
“Marco, there is something I need to tell you, Ria is in danger.” I finally able to say.
“I know, because my father wants to. He wants to lure those killers. He already assigned us to protect her. We are bound for Pampanga, but we don’t really have any destination in that province.” Marco says, now looking at me. I can still see the trails of his tears in his face.
“You know you don’t stand a chance against them. I’m coming with you!” I say.
“My father already assumed that you will come. He is never wrong.” Marco says.
Marco rubs his eyes and wiped his face with his shirt. He goes back into the elevator. I follow him as we head back into the basement. This elevator is strange. It doesn’t even have any windows. The only thing to guide you on what floor you are currently into is the infrared screen above the door. We are already in the B2, which I think stands for Basement 2, 2 floors below the surface.
