The morning after the Pimple teeth incident was one that didn't naturally pertain to anything. Besides the fact that I got two letters at breakfast from my mum and my dad. But it was also the morning where the Hogsmeade notice was posted. Which meant I would be spending the weekend with Rosalie. Or with Harry and Hermione. Because Rosalie stopped me in the hall before we could get to breakfast.
"Hey, [Y/N]. You know we can go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" she asked me.
"Yeah. I noticed." I said.
"Anyway, you know the guy I like?" Rosalie asked me.
"Ethan Fitzgerald? What about him?" I asked her.
I could tell where this was going. I just didn't want to hear what Rosalie was going to tell me. I already knew deep down inside of me. I knew what my best friend was going to say. And I had to act like I was okay with it.
"Well, he just ask me to go to Hogsmeade with him this weekend." Rosalie said. "And I said...."

I had never felt as small as I did when I was sitting at the Slytherin table after Rosalie and I had our conversation. But I might have felt even smaller than that when the two letters plopped down in front of me.
With two seperate owls.
I picked up the first one that was in front of me. My mum's handwriting was clear as I looked at the first letter. Mum's letter was sort of short, but also sort of long. It was in the middle like a grey area.
Hi, [Y/N].
How's school going so far? I'm sorry I couldn't tell you about the Triwizard Tournament. Barty wanted to have it on the down low.
I forgot mom was in the Department of International Magical Cooperation.
Anyways, I haven't received a letter from you yet, but your father has. I suspect that's on my part for not telling you quick enough. Work is very time-consuming and family draining. Now, your father probably told you. But knowing [D/N] he probably hasn't told the news yet. Communication has always been his kryptonite.
News? Why do I have that feeling that something bad is coming?
Anyways, I have taken to traveling around the world. Your father has no idea where I am. Don't worry. It's not that complicated. Actually, I think now is when I should tell you. Your father and I have just gotten a divorce.
Divorce?
We've been separated since April, but the whole thing was just finalized just last week. That explains why you spent the summer at Nanna's and went with Aunt Emily to the Quidditch World Cup with your friend, Rosie.Anyways, your father's letter informing you of the situation is most likely on it's way. I just wanted to tell you first. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you in person.
Maybe when you come home for Christmas, I can explain it to you. I'm sorry to have to tell you this in this form. I expect weekly updates like usual. Love you, cupcake.
[M/N].
Sorry to have to tell you this in a letter? She was apologizing, but this was not something I needed to hear in a letter. Mom could have come and visit me at Nanna's house to tell me they were separated.
"You okay there, [Y/N]?" Draco asked me.
I looked over at the Blonde Slytherin that was a Malfoy. And a prejudice bastard. But he was always nice to me for some reason. I never understood why. My best friend was what he called a "Mudblood" which is very vulgar language for me.
