Tris pov

It's my first day at my life long dream career. I'm teaching sixth grade, middle school. I'm nervous to see how the first day plays out but I'm still very excited.

As the children file into a desk I just smile and greet them as they come in. I have my teacher's assistant collect their bags of school supplies and sort the things off to a corner.

The first period bell rings and all the kids are in their seats talking, waiting for instruction.

"Good morning class. My name is Ms. Prior and I'm super excited to spend this year with you" I say to them and the room gets silent.

"To start the day off we are going to do something really easy which is to make name tags for your desk. I'm going to try my best to get everyone's name right so please bear with me. This is my first year of teaching but I will go over more of my life in a slideshow I have prepared for you later" I tell them as I pass paper out.

They quickly get to work so I go over to my laptop to take attendance. I call out their names and they raise their hand once it is called.

While they work I walk around and observe their name tags. Some have little drawings and others have just their name. I compliment them and give them about 5 more minutes to finish up.

We get the name tag's taped to the desk then I go into a small slideshow about my life. I show them pictures of my favorite things to do, Tobias, my favorite color, food, my education; my family.

"Any questions" I ask once I finish presenting

"How old are you" a boy asks raising his hand

"I am 24. I know I'm young but this is just the beginning to my life as a teacher" I answer his question and he laughs

"You think 24 is young. That's old" he says and a group of kids laugh.

"Okay so now that I've showed you an example of what my life looks like. I want each and everyone of you to create one of your own. This is meant to be fun but it will be graded so give it all you got. I will give you some time to work on it in class but you can finish it up at home. I cannot wait to hear all about your lives" I say and they get up and run for the laptops.

It's lunch time. The kids are away for an hour of lunch so I'm just in my room cleaning up a mess they made of a craft we did. You would think they would know how to clean up- nope.

I'm supposed to be eating but I'm stuck on my laptop preparing myself for the next thing for today.

I take a sip of water and someone walks into the classroom. I look up and it's Tobias.

"Hey you" I say smiling running up to him.

"Hi" he says hugging me

"How did you get out of work. They are always so strict" I ask him and he chuckles

"I made it happen" he says

He hands me a bouquet of flowers and hands me a salad from my favorite restaurant.

"I thought you might like this" he says as I smile down at the salad.

"Thank you, I'm so hungry. I'm just so nervous I haven't had time to sit down and eat something" I say

"Don't be nervous. I know you're doing great" he says

"I just don't want the kids to hate me. There's a few boys who won't stop laughing at me. The one kid asked me how old I was and then called me old" I say and Tobias laughs

"Oh tris. Need me to talk to him" he laughs and I shake my head no laughing

"No I think I can handle him" I say leaning up to him as he holds my waist
